Great service amazing food, slightly on the pricey side but worth the money. The Bourguignon is amazing.
Great place for lunch and dinner. Wonderful atmosphere.
I love Cafe Rouge, the atmosphere is nice, the lighting not too bright. The food is mostly fine. The chicken liver pate has improved. Some of the main meals are pricey but still a good place to eat in nice surroundings. Lovely to meet a friend for lunch here as it's peaceful and you are never hurried.
Dinner with the family, really nice food and staff. We have used before and will go back. Many thanks to the staff for a place you can rely on. Went back for dinner on 30th December, excellent dinner at about 6pm. The Food was very well presented and hot. Service excellent, some of the other places to eat should go and see how it's done. Best burger I have had locally for a long time. Thank you all and see you soon.
Had a lovely meal at Cafe rouge on Sunday night. I had the Christmas set menu which is very reasonably priced. I changed my desert on the set menu to something on the Main menu and it wasn’t a problem for the staff and I wasn’t charged a premium. Will be returning and thanks for a lovely evening!
Lovely little restaurant with a nice atmosphere. I love Cafe Rouges food, even though it is a chain restaurant it never disappoints! The staff here are very nice too and super helpful
Cosy, consistently nice food. Some of the dishes are a little overpriced - such as the veg tagine. They need to remember to ask if you want bread & bring water when asked for. Liked the music. Friendly staff
On a windy Saturday afternoon, my wife and I had lunch at the newly refurbished Café Rouge in Gerrads Cross. It is located on a quiet side road off the main busy high street. There is some off road parking outside the restaurant and in addition a pay and display car park located only 100 yards down the road opposite a Waitrose.
I can’t compare how Café Rouge looked before, but on first impressions, it gave off a Parisian vintage bistro. On the walls there were black and white photographs of what looked like old Hollywood actors and actresses in combination with retro advertisements and front covers of Vogue.
We observed families out for the afternoon too enjoying their meals with their children. We were welcomed and seated by friendly staff in a quiet and intimate corner in the front of the restaurant. The staff was polite and attentive, giving us enough time to relax and peruse their French cuisine menu options.
My wife opted for the Moules (mussels, cooked in a white wine sauce which came with a side order of fries) and I had a medium cooked Sirloin Steak, which also came with a house salad or fries. In a bid to be a little healthy and also to fill me up, the chef made no problem when I asked to substitute the fries for the side accompaniment of lentils. The presentation was great and the taste even better.
Although we don’t have children yet, we wouldn’t hesitate to bring our future offspring here to enjoy a cosy and reasonably priced meal again with top quality service. I definitely recommend a visit.
Disappointing defrosted souffle starter 🙄 Bettee choice the French onion soup.
Ok on the whole. Good service. Ambient atmosphere but won't be rushing back.
