The Secret Garden Cafe

Absolutely delicious lunch today. Lovely, friendly staff and a nice relaxed atmosphere. Our table ordered the special cheese on toast, the figs and a chicken sandwich.... all presented beautifully with tasty, good quality ingredients. Much better than your usual garden centre choices... a real treat. Thank you, we will be back. :0)

It was my first experience at the cafe and what a pleasant one it was. To see people being able to work and live a normal life is great to see and it was truly heartwarming to see opportunities available for people with disabilities, which I don’t personally think their is enough opportunity’s out there. On top of that the food was excellent and the service was too. I will defo be returning when I visit family in Gillingham again.

Such a wonderful garden centre that I visit regularly. Great range of plants and beautiful shop. Dropped a star as visited yesterday and really disappointed to see that now only one glasshouse open for public and shrub nursery also closed to customers. Part of Thorngrove’s charm was to be able to wander around all these areas picking up plants you didn’t even know you needed. Was so looking forward to looking round the glasshouses that are usually abundantly stocked and a gardener’s dream. Hopefully changes only temporary. Sadly, I suspect takings will suffer as a consequence.

Took the family out for cooked breakfast this morning. Excellent quality sausages & bacon, very tasty. The staff are lovely esp the lady who always seems to be working with a happy smile & good banter!! Couldn't of had a better experience. Always found this cafe to be clean & tidy no used plates etc hanging around. Lovely welcoming atmosphere, a true secret gem of a place. The garden centre is really good too!!

I have just been on my second visit to garden centre as I’ve heard nothing but great reports about it. I wasn’t disappointed. It really has everything you need and you are definitely spoilt for choice. The staff and volunteers there are super friendly and really helpful as well.. I’m looking forward to going back

Completely hidden gem! Beautiful little cafe amongst pots and plants in a garden centre. Car park, toilets, disabled access. Great food and service, super coffee, all served with many smiles! Inside and outside seating. Please go and support this endeavour to employ people who really need some extra help to find full and gainful employment.

I was very impressed with the nursery. All the plants looked in good health and was well priced, it was nice to know that allot of the summer bedding/annuals was brought up on-site. It was great to walk around the greenhouses and poly tunnels and with a relaxed feel to the place added the whole ambience. The cafe was nicely presented and the new shop was a good touch. For me it was nice to see that they are giving opportunities for young adults with special needs working around the nursery, we'll done 😁👍
