Lovely authentic restaurant..
I had dinner here last Friday evening with my partner and our good friends. We had delicious food and shared two bottles of lovely white wine. The whole experience was wonderful.
I expect high standards when it comes to food quality regardless of whether I am in a cafe or a restaurant and this place did not disappoint in any way.
I will return, and will continue to recommend this restaurant to others.
The food was really tasty and felt very authentic. The staff were really lovely and attentive. The only reason it lost a star was that I felt it was a bit of a high price point even for a nice Italian.
Now one of my favourite Italian restaurants in Glasgow. Highly recommended 👌
Absolutely recommend this restaurant! Authentic, quality Italian food and plenty of it (aubergine parmigiana, deep fried courgettes, mussels, veal, spinach and ricotta canneloni, veal scallops in marsala and spagetti with meatballs), friendly family atmosphere with photos of previous guests covering the walls and amazing deserts ("double nuggets" with raspberry ripple ice-cream, white chocolate profiteroles and sticky toffee pudding)! On our first visit, It felt like we were old friends! And as a bonus, the parking nearby is great too!
Il vero sapore di Italia. I’m so surprised by this little Italian venue. It’s charming, cosy and soooo blissful. Thank you team, Catarina such a great host. The chef Arturo soooo friendly and made my dish taste like at home in Italy.
This Capri family will make you feel in the Mediterranean for sure. I’ve asked them to do our Calabrese way and they certainly delivered what I’ve asked for. DO NOT HAVE CARBONARA WITH CREAM. It’s a SIN for us.
I’m passionate about this resto, thank you so much for having me, I do get why regulars become regulars. Here I am :-) a new bee. See you again soon!!! Lady BBellie the Captain!
The service throughout was faultless. Absolutely excellent.
The quality of food was good and the restaurant had a great atmosphere.
The only fault, if you could call it one, is the specials aren’t on a board so you have your host telling you them verbally which means they are easily forgotten. Perhaps printing a menu or using a board would help with that as I noticed others within my area had an issue remembering as well.
Another ‘negative’ was the price point. As I said, it was good food but you can get the same dishes to a similar quality for 1/3 of the price.
All in all it was a good experience. Just be prepared to dip your hand into your pockets!
Very friendly, warm service and splendid taste!
Trying to find a good Italian restaurant in town, but it's really difficult.
Finally, I found this restaurant where is hidden in Glasgow City, such a great place to get Italian ambience for me.
Fab little hidden gem in Glasgow. Would highly recommend to anyone in the area, even if only for the spectacular service! Food was delicious and authentic.
Lovely service and beautiful food. Lives up to all the positive reviews and then some more! Great choice of specials alongside the menu too.
Recently went for a meal midweek for my wife's 40th. Obviously it was a lot quieter but the food lived up to the reputation being op class. Attentive & professional service from the owner who took time to chat away to us about life in which was a nice touch followed by the fellow staff singing happy birthday as the deserts came out with a candle in. All in all a fantastic first visit to Don Castanzo & highly recommended.
