The tandoori with grill meat platter to share is fantastic. We also tried a salmon bangali curry which was amazing. Cosy restaurant with a diverse Indian and Persian menu. Lovely service and delicious food!

KoolBaa serves some tasty food. We had a few authentic Indian dishes and those were very nice. Rogan Josh served by KolBa is outstanding. The customer service is also another highlight and the restaurant was not that crowded when we visited. We didn't reserve a seat before visiting the resto but I always recommend you to reserve a seat and go because it can get crowded on the weekends.

Amazing food, service and atmosphere. Staff were friendly and professional. The menu was varied and there was a set lunch available for £15 a head. We had poppadoms (£7 extra), vegetable pakora, chicken pakora, chicken tikka masala, chicken kebab irani, rice and garlic nan. Portions were very generous. Everything arrived in good time and was delicious. Definitely visit again.

Lovely menu with most dishes gluten free. Very amiable and attentive staff.
We went on Saturday prior to a matinee at the Tron Theatre so had the pre-theatre menu which is very reasonable. Music is played at a suitable volume to allow you to chat without having to raise your voice!
Ideal location for the theatre too.

Not a bad eat but not the greatest in the world either reasonably priced though.

As far as authentic cuisine goes, this was amazing. Flavours were fresh, exciting and far from a standard Indian style restaurant.
Service was fantastic and accommodating. Would return in a heart beat and definitely a recommendation from a curry lover.

Simply delicious. If you want beautiful fresh vibrant food cooked with amazing flavour you need to come here. Don’t panic if you don’t want ‘heat’ from spice there is so much available. One words sums it up: Sensational

This is seriously the best Indian food I’ve ever had. The quality and taste of everything we ordered was amazing. Really nice and welcoming staff as well. If I lived in Glasgow I would come every week.

Super warm welcome from all the staff. Beautiful interior, spotless toilets. Food was superb. Lamb shank falling off the bone, encased in rich tasty rogan josh sauce. Amazing service and meal. Highly recommended this place. You won't be disappointed . Definitely will be back. Sorry I didn't take a photo of the food, was distracted by how fantastic it looked and couldn't wait to eat it! Thanks guys for a wonderful, kind and lovely experience. Xx

What a find! Traveling alone for a weekend in Glasgow, I chanced upon this lovely restaurant. The food is delicious, the place is beautifully clean and the staff are friendly and welcoming.
No problem getting a nice table in the window on a busy Saturday night, which was lovely. They could not have been nicer to this lone diner and I was very happy (and full).

Had dinner here on a wet Weds evening in Glasgow. Restaurant was very quiet so service was swift. Lovely range on the menu. Food arrived quickly. Poppadoms to start followed by outstanding Lamb Rogan Josh and Chicken Biriani. All washed down with some very enjoyable G&Ts. Dinner for two plus drinks was a little over £100. Very nice atmosphere, delicious food. All done very well. Service and staff generally very good.

Fabulous restaurant with excellent choice of dishes at reasonable cost. Food itself is excellent, with good choices for starters as well as main courses.
Tonight for mains we had the Chicken Tikka meal, and Sea Bass Kerelan Garlic Chilli. Proved to be excellent choices.
Staff were very friendly and helpful in providing information on menus.
They actually take time to interact with customers, and a particular thank you to Sadhana and Adonai for looking after us and making our dining experience special.
There is a nice atmosphere in this restaurant and it is well worth a visit.
Give it a try, you will not be disappointed.
We will definitely be back ……soon!

Probably the best dine in Indian I’ve had in Glasgow.
Could not fault any part of our experience from when we walked through the door till we walked out of it.
Incredible service, outstanding food, awesome venue in a great location.
Great value too as they have extended EOTHO Mon-Thu through September.
Phone to book, if you book online you’re not eligible for 50% off food and non-alcoholic drinks 😉

One of the best Indian meals that I've had since India. Naans were light and fluffy, lamp saag was delicious, fresh tasting with melt in the mouth lamb. Could not fault the service, I honestly couldn't have gone to the bar and poured myself a drink faster than the staff bright it over. I would love to return. Thank you for a lovely evening.

Visited on Saturday at 6pm (had made a reservation as we were using an Itison voucher). Welcoming as soon as you enter. Didn’t get the main waiters name but he was a laugh and very friendly. Ordered mixed pakora to share and everyone loved it. We all had different curries and we also ordered the mushroom rice which I would highly recommend. We all loved our dishes and ordered another garlic and coriander naan after we polished off the first one in record time.

We had a lovely evening and will definitely be back.

Koolba restaurant, ye ek Bhartiya restaurant hai, best curry in Glasgow khaane me hamne sbse pehle pakore khaaye or london me pakore khaa k maja hi agaya chicken chaat ek dum wadiya tha or akhir me chicken tikka masaledar ne toh swaad me char chaand laga diye

The restaurant decor and the staff were lovely, as was the naan bread. But the curry I had (lamb karahi) was very bland and under seasoned . More like a generic tomato stew - not full of flavour like the menu mentions. We also had a wine (Rioja Tinto) that we couldn’t finish due to the corked taste. The wine wasn’t off, just an unpleasant flavour. Not what you want for what you pay.

I went here last month with my friends to celebrate our reunion. We ordered Indian dishes like butter & garlic naan, kadai paneer, and butter chicken. Later to compensate our heavy meals, we ordered masala chai with gulab jamuns 🤤. We had quite a good experience as the place was cosy and food was delicious.

The only thing which we didn’t like about them was their staff who was arrogant with us. They were talking to us as if they are frustrated. This kind of behaviour in hospitality industry is not good as you have to prioritise customers.

Anyways, overall, the restaurant is good and you can enjoy good Indian meals with family and friends.

It's the best Indian place in Merchant city. They started out with another place in the area but moved to current premises. The atmosphere is relaxed and the service is attentive. Food is freshly cooked to order so definitely worth the wait. The owner has a chicken farm in the moors so thoroughly recommend the chicken dishes. But everything is good on the menu. My personal favourite is the garlic chilli chicken and prawns with basmati rice and nan.

This place has been on my wishlist for a long time. We finally gave it a go. The food was really lovely. May not be the best Indian food we've had but it was delicious. The place filled up quite quickly which was good and service was really friendly. The people at the table next to us were talking to the waiter about the menu options and he was explaining about regional dishes and also how some areas are heavily influenced by Persian cuisine. Nice. Looking round everyone seemed to be happy and enjoying their meals.

The only negatives were that I think they were a bit too heavy handed with tomato in their sauces and also the price - you will pay more here. That said we agree it was good and enjoyable. I'm glad we trued it and would probably go back again sometime.

Good, but not great. As with a few other reviewers I found the service and welcome at Koolba a bit lacking. Entered to a very quiet restuarant early evening to be told, "we will be closing in an hour" in a slightly unfriendly manner. In that case it is up to them to get it dished up quickly or not take on the custom. Left me looking at my watch while I was there.

The food is good, everything was very fresh and in terms of quality I feel this one is up there on what is it producing. Saying that though sadly there really is not enough of it and for what is being charged is a bit cheeky when there is plenty of other decent similar type places close by.

Although food is very good, won't be running back.

Best laid plans.... I tried to book Koolba for a large family booking for 20+ on visiting the resturant before with my partner i was quite impressed with the variety of food and the service. I looked about the area to see what was on off and made some calls to see who was the best.

On emailing Koolba i found that the were avaliable so i called to get things moving. I discussed some details with them (dates, numbers, etc) and was told that a set menu would be the best which i agreed and asked if i could get this sent through. That was back in december and understandably it was a busy time but i was emailed a couple of time to advise that it was on it's way.

This was only recieved last week along with the prices which was not what expected for just a basic starter adn a very basic curry which i could go to any buffet in Glasgow and get for less than half price.

Can't really say the way the booking has been handled has been good or even professional so not realy missing an experience.

Good for a bite to eat if you just want an indian as this is all they d now but apart from that you can get better elsewhere.

There is nothing 'perfect' in the world, however KookBa's food is as close as it gets. Amazing service and the food is just fantastic!

Best Curry in City Center. Just got home from koolba after enjoying one of the best curries in a long time. Not only was the curry amazing but the service and atmosphere were also exceptional. Just on vacation here in glasgow and the staff made us feel really comfortable and treated us to a nice evening with great food. I would definitely recommend this great little spot to anyone and everyone even if your not the biggest curry fan as they have a bbq selection that also looked quite interesting. So go out and try it today or at least sometime soon.

Leaving Do. Went in there on Friday 5th November, as a party of 15 people. Had pre-ordered with the set menu, and I have to say the staff were absolutely excellent. Really friendly great relaxed atmosphere and were very flexible, even when some of our party arrived late! Starters were excellent, choices of pakora and chaat, mains were basic but excellent Lamb and Chicken dishes. The Naan breads were light and the best I have tasted. Really great service, great food and a great start to the evening. Will be back.

Let down. Like someone else mentioned, it has "indian restaurant of the year" emblazoned outside. ummm, lies! there is no way this is true - i was really unimpressed with this place. we advised our waiter we only had an hour to dine, with that he basically told us what we were eating and lied about the cost (he said it was £10.90 pre threatre for starter and main. i said i didn't want a starter but he said i would get one anyway but then added £1.50 each on bill at the end - didn't have time to argue!!)..... the portions were TINY. i will say the chicken was lovely and really well cooked but there was so little of it. i would never recommend this place to anyone.
Albertz
The beat curry I've ever had. I can't go anywhere else without saying, "well it wasn't as good as kool ba". Which I suppose is a bad thing, but shows how good this place is. I love it and can't stop going back and would recommend that everyone try this then try not to go back.
DINER TEC AND DOLL
Looking for a good curry. The doll and i fully recommend, but take the plastic or you may need to wash the dishes

Almost but not quite. Compared to what's in and around the area, it might be wise to give Koolba a wide berth. I first visited this place when it was situated inside the Candleriggs Square, along with some friends who'd been before, and it blew my socks off with how good the food tasted. Yum yum, all was good. One to remember.

However, it has since moved the street outside (same owners?) and I'm afraid my last experience really will be my last. For me it was just a bit to expensive for what you got for your money, and a pretty slow service even though the place was emptied.

It's also advertised as being Indian Restaurant of the Year outside, but don't be fooled.

Went in on a Saturday afternoon and was delighted. Beautiful, well presented food. Excellent service and relaxing setting. Great menu and so worth a visit. If you only eat out once this year make it Koolba

You've gotta try it!. Good food and good service, excellent Merchant City location - what's not to like about this place?
I especially like the advice the waiter gave me regarding my special dietary needs.
Godd value for money and very fresh food, 8/10.

Best Indian in a while..... Great atmosphere, contemporary settings. The staff are friendly, attentive and knowledgeable and willing to offer advice on the dishes. The food itself is original, well presented, and very tasty. The pre-theatre menu available on 5pm.co.uk is extensive, great value with something for everyone.

We discovered this by accident & thank heaven we did. The best Indian in Glasgow, possibly Scotland. Best flavour out there without the grease & crap you normally get. Trust me, try it.

Superb. First visit on 31 Jan, likely to be one of many.
Food excellent, service was warm & friendly.
Reasonable prices for a most enjoyable meal.
