It won’t buy you a train ticket from Glasgow to Edinburgh. It won't buy you the latest Now That’s What I Call Music CD (95, bet that makes you feel old!)It won’t buy you a Mitre Delta Football. It will however get you a two course dinner at a City Centre Restaurant, and by restaurant I mean somewhere with table service, wine and alcohol on offer and cutlery laid out on a table.
A very good quality lunch with fast efficient service- just what I was looking for on a rainy afternoon in Glasgow! I popped in after being soaked at George Square and got what I was looking for. Clean, warm and great value for money too.
It was cold and wet on Saturday night & after a drink my sister opted for Greek - we walked in & were lucky enough to get the last table, it was warm inside with only an occasional chill from the door opening.. Service was good - our waitress attentive & helpful. We started with tsatsiki and toasted pita - it was delicious with loads of garlic & very creamy. We were also given olives & fresh bread - all yum ! For main my husband had hamburgers, my sister had moussaka & I had pastitsio. They were all very tasty & nice sized portions and although I cannot comment on value for money (at SA exchange rate EVERYTHING is outrageous) my sister thought it was reasonable. We had baclava for dessert with very strong coffee 😳 and then headed back into the rain !!?

Nice food, they mixed up the orders though it was really calm that day....
the onion in te salad was overpowering the main course....
Dinner on 11 May. Had a lovely meal in Elia last night - food was delicious, bill was very reasonable and service was very attentive without being overbearing.
One thing I would change had I known ahead - King Prawn souvlaki comes shell on - very messy! Meal was very nice but a bit too much of a faff for me personally - that said, that's my issue, not the chef's.
I will definitely be back,
Amazing! 10/10 !!! Location: fantastic with a lovely view on George square. Very easy to find. Restaurant: very lovely, plenty of space, you can hear beautiful Greek music, and it's not too loud:) very clean and well presented Staff: very nice, very friendly, very smiley and very polite Food: gorgeous!!! Had dinner there two days in a row! Mouthwatering! It's hard to describe something that is more than perfect+delicious!!
Reasonable. We tried the lunchtime menu - 2 courses for about £7 - and were quite pleased with ourselves. The location is handy for train travel and it's easy to find. It's bright and airy and cheerful enough. The service was efficient and plenty friendly. And the food, although not startling if you're a vegetarian (ubiquitous moussaka), was hot, filling and tasty. I liked the hoummus and the complimentary bread, oil and olives was a pleasing touch. I'd like to try the evening menu next please!
ELIA-10 out of 10. Light and spacious restaurant. Friendly and helpful staff, especially with descriptions for some of the dishes. Fresh and very tasty meal. Was even pleasantly surprised at how tasty a chip could be! Would recommend a visit and have to all my friends and work collegues.
I booked a table at elia for 11 people for my mums birthday and thought it was fantastic, it was everybodys first time eating here and the meals were lovely and filling, staff were very helpful and very attending, we will definately be coming back here, my mum had a wonderful birthday.
I often eat in this restaurant as it ticks all the boxes for me. Good fresh food with no airs or graces. Great value for money and a nice relaxed atmosphere. Also very central for meeting up with people. The staff are lovely. Can get a bit busy for me on Friday/Saturday eves - I much prefer meeting my pals for a pre-theatre meal through the week or a lazy family lunch on a Sunday afternoon. My favourite is the meze mix where you can choose lots of dishes to share between you. Lets you get a taste of everything and reminds you of your summer holidays!!
Beautiful, fresh food. I've been wanting to try here for a while and so glad we finally did. Service was good and we were given complimentary bread, olives and oil, which was nice. My only complaint would be for starters we ordered hummus and tzatziki which came on big plates, we were given 1 pitta between 2 people. I feel for the amount in each starter we could have done with a pitta each. We would definitely return.
You can smell the delicious food before entering the restaurant!
We tried the lunch menu which have a good amount of options already. The dolma is really tasty, so are the tzatziki with pita bread. I had the lamb souvlaki and its sooo tender, cooked literally to perfection, the portion size is pretty big, thoroughly enjoyed that. My friend ordered the Smyrneika, the meatballs are nice but a bit salty, the sauce is amazing tho.
The service is great, they had a large menu and plenty seatings, will definitely come back to try more food! Highly recommend this place!
Had a very nice lunch on Sunday there: an entre and a main just for £14. Had a very nice tzatziki and a 🐔 skew. Quite basic but nice. Ahhh and the offer 🫒 and bread as a compliment. The service was nice, friendly and prompt.
Never had a less than excellent experience in Elia and this visit was no different. Lovely servers , lovely food and wine. The house wine is always to my taste and the food perfectly cooked. It's such a nice, bright and open area too so always pleasant to linger over another glass of wine or a coffee and no pressure to leave.
Superb Greek restaurant, right in the heart of Glasgow city centre. Excellent value! Had the meze platter for 2 which is ridiculously great value. Everything was very tasty, from the dips to the meats, moussaka, breads and baklava and coffees!
Service from one man in particular was brilliant. Very knowledgeable and friendly, giving great advice and information. The younger servers are a lot less interactive and can learn a lot from him, but it's the only reason for 1 less star on the service.... Certainly a 5 star place overall!
We'll be back soon!!!
Everything was amazing. We had a great experience having a celebratory Father’s Day dinner here. The food tasted great and service was attentive👍🏾
a great find, never come across this gem of a place before .... great service, lovely atmosphere, amazing food and wine, reasonably priced too for city centre .... can't wait to visit again and recommend to friends
Excellent staff and excellent food beautiful place to eat.
We didn't have a booking, but they managed to fit us in. Staff were friendly and attentive. The order was taken and arrived quickly. Nice atmosphere. Food was lovely.
Great food and service. We ordered Taramosala (sea food dip) starter and Mousaka )traditional greek fav), grilled chicken for main course. Portion sizes were big enough to satisfy us. Will def visit again whenever we are back.
