Been coming here for over 15 years and it was our first time back since the renovations have been completed. The online pictures don't do it justice. Much more space,a great atmosphere and a stylish interior, make the setting worth a visit alone. However, the food is the main point of returning and we weren't to be disappointed. A slightly changed menu, but all the favourites are still there. Starters included popdoms with spiced onions and tangy prawns on puri bread which were both excellent and a generous portions as well. This was followed by lamb rogan josh and king prawn bhuna. Both were excellent. All in all, a great experience and one we will repeat often. Welcome back!
The ambiance is very interesting and lively, staff is good too
The preparation is amazing and the quantity of food justifies the price.
Must try Indian restaurant for the authentic taste!
Situated on the corner of the famous Ashton Lane, it can be easy to walk past Ashoka. However, once inside the atmosphere is warm and lively. The restaurant has just recently been refurbished and now looks brighter and more appealing. Service is excellent and the food is very reasonably priced. The garlic chili chicken is very spicy but not too overwhelming, and goes well with a side dish of butter paneer. The paratha is always warm and freshly made. Overall, Ashoka West End remains one of my favourite restaurants in Glasgow.
Very nice lunch, reasonable for the price, and good service. Will come back again
Delicious Indian meal served by friendly and attentive staff. Portions were very generous, with lots of paneer and chicken in the mains.
Poppadoms came with large pots of spicy onions, but would have benefited from some other dips.
Good drink selection and some good-looking desserts - if only we had room!
We are French tourists and the restaurant was recommended to us by our taxi driver.
We had a wonderful dinner with our kids.
The dishes are truly delicious and the staff is attentive, nice and funny.
I never put comments on google but they really deserve it !
Such delicious food with a big variety and great vegan options! Also very accommodating and friendly staff, would definitely recommend.
Authentic delicious Indian food ! We loved the place :) Although my drink has been forgotten, the service is charming and we had a lot of fun. So I will definitely come back :)
The menue shows a great variety of vegetarian and vegan food:)
Lovely food...rice was light and fluffy. Creamy masala delicious and the lamb labdabar was also great. Good portion size .service was good. Can't fault it.
Food was perfect - we ordered three vegetarian dishes, one with paneer which was perfectly cooked, and another that was a Cauliflower dhansak with a really nice kick. Staff were very friendly and the portions were generous. 5 stars
Food here was absolutely delicious. Had a mint and yoghurt curry that I'd never heard of before that'd couldn't have been nicer. Would definitely return to try some of the other unique dishes on the menu, there were plenty!
The food was great, many different authentic Indian choices, different to the modernized Indian cuisine. All the curries were onion based, the biryani did not taste like a biryani, however, it was really delicious, but I don’t think I’d consider it a biryani. Arguably best naan bread I’ve had at any Indian restaurant, and the best butter Chicken (had a different more traditional name). The staff were helpful with portion and food choice recommendations. The restaurant’s atmosphere was pleasant, there is also more space down stairs.
Great Indian restaurant! The food is delicious and the staff is very dedicated! The atmosphere in the restaurant is very pleasant and the location is great. There are only a handful of good Indian restaurants that serve delicious food and this happens to be one of them. Definately recommend. Give it a try!
A lovely wee restaurant and all the food we had was delicious and the best curry I have ever had
