Literally just delicious! Nothing else to add! Amazing!! The staff are all super attentive and lovely. The wine is great and well priced. Brilliant!
Superb "Fish&Chips"!. Have now dined at the revamped Gandolfi Fish restaurant twice and, on both occasions, enjoyed delicious haddock&chips and cod&chips. The fish was spankingly fresh and cooked to order, the chips of the "made from real potatoes and cooked in traditional dripping" variety. The new layout of the restaurant is informal and comfortable, the service efficient and welcoming. There is a takeaway "chip-shop" linked to the restaurant. The menu offers other fish and seafood dishes as well as the variety of fried fish dishes.

Great Place. I am a visitor to the Glasgow area from the United States. I had been here for 4 days when I went to Gandolfi Fish. This was the best meal I have had since I got here. I was alone, so I chose to sit at the bar. Sitting at the bar, I probably got better service then at a table, but I don't know for sure. What I do know, is my service was incredible. I never had to wait for something, but I was never bothered by a waiter when I didn't need something. The food... was excellent. I had a special of the day starter, scallops and chorizo. Presentation fabulous, food great. The scallops were cooked to perfection (not too done, not too raw). I chose the fish and chips, only because I had not had this dish since getting to the UK this trip and the sign advertised it as the best in town. I have no way of knowing that, but it was very good.
I am only here for 2 more nights and I'm already considering the possibility of a repeat. Well done.
Nice enough. Pre theater menu was reasonably priced, my sea bream was tasty although perhaps slightly overpowered by the rich chorizo and lentil ragout. Good service was a bonus. Interior is beautifully decorated. Shame about the taxi journey on the way home...good restaurant though!
Lunchtime was quiet but the service was abut slow . I ordered seafood pie thinking it would be packed full of fish. Well I was dissapointed as it was more like potato pie with some seafood and for a lunch sized portion at £9 I didn't think it was great value for money.
Admittedly I would have ventured into Gandolfi Fish anyway, but Hugh made me see the place through different eyes & I appreciated the thought that goes into my food before it reaches my plate. Now who’s going to take up the challenge of a meat version…
The food is very tasty and the portions are good. They have quite successfully added their own spin on every dish we tried, which is a nice touch. The prices are a little on the high side though nothing outrageous. The service was good though a bit careless towards the end of the night, where drinks orders were being forgotten about repeatedly. All in all a good experience so can recommend this place if you want some great food in a nice setting.
I have been to this cafe a year ago .. A wonderful place and it’s just amazing.. the food is super delish.. yummiest breakfast eaten ever😋😋😋😋 The atmosphere is lovely as well☺️ the staff are very friendly and welcoming..
Delicious breakfast 🌞 The poached egg was perfect. I really enjoyed the black pudding. It was not too salty and oily and it melted in my mouth— better than the ones I had in England. The mushroom and sausage were also tasty. And the potato scone was new to me but resembled nostalgically the pancakes at home. Can’t imagine how I easily finished a full breakfast.
There is a very good selection of tea, with nice quality and aroma.
The dishes came fast and the service was really friendly. The interior is elegant and charming.
Best haggis I've had so far. The gentleman serving mentioned it's Cockburn's; he had to write it down for me because my Glaswegian is terrible. The atmosphere of the restaurant makes rainy night woes drift away, with its custom tables and chairs and casual lighting. Definitely try Cafe Gandolfi.
That was our first time in Glasgow, a very short stay...and we usually don't eat twice at the same place to make sure we try many places.. but with the Café Gandolfi, we had to do an exception. The building is great, the breakfasts were incredible and, to be honnest, we came back for the very kind staff !! Don't miss it !
Scottish Breakfast(Full Gandolfi Breakfast) was lovely. Egg benedicts sauce was kinda full of vinegar, it was good but could be the best if the vinegar was balanced.
Other than that, everything was good. It’s better to make reservation.
Every detail in the interior is special, heavy wooden chairs, tables with beautiful table tops and stained glass on a large window, these are not all the details worth describing. The food is delicious, and the staff is polite and attentive.
Beautiful restaurant below a pub you find Cafe Gandolfi! Incredible wooden floors and furniture makes this place warm and inviting. We got the Smoked Salmon & Scramble along with the Full English/Scottish Breakfast (Fry Up) and enjoyed every bite of eggs, bread, and meat that we had before a full day of sight seeing!
For the price you pay for a steak it would have been nice to have a wee salad with it. Both our steaks were slightly overdone in spite of having been very clear about preferences (blue and rare) This said it was tender and a good cut of meat. I can warmly recommend that IPA beer for the lovers of hops out there.
great brunch you need to book. the atmosphere is cozy and pleasant and the dishes are well served. French pancakes look amazing. to test !
