We started off with a plate of popadoms and another of sixteen pakora, four each of four different types: haggis, vegetable, chicken and fish - all perfectly cooked. There were four adults and two children and we all chose our own main and shared three bowls of rice. I had haddock curry which was light, spicy and wonderful. Others had prawn, chicken or veg curry dishes which they all enjoyed. We drank Kingfisher beer which they have in house and we brought a bottle of red wine on which we paid a nominal amount for corkage. An excellent meal.
Amazing experience! The food was simply delicious. We tried most of the non vegetarian options and enjoyed ourselves very much. Food came quickly, but everything was freshly cooked and tasty.
Lovely decor and atmosphere. Attentive and really friendly service staff. Great food, generous portions, and all at very reasonable prices.
You could easily miss this first floor restaurant - and once you get past the fact that the front door leads you into the bar...it's a brilliant find! Tasty treats at good value, fusing traditional scottish flavours with the punchy, exotic spices of the East
Excellent curry in small independent concern.open 12 years this curry house has built up a great reputation for food and atmosphere. Limited menu just means that what you get is quality well worth a visit
Ordered a carry out after travelling from Glenrothes to visit a relative. Incredibly friendly staff. Hubby says his Vindaloo is excellent. My butter chicken is the best I have ever tasted. The rice is rich in cardamom, just how I like it! Must go to Glasgow more often!
The cutest little curry restaurant houses the biggest and boldest flavors! Absolutely charming little lane off of busy Byres Rd, this curry shop is hands down the best Indian food I’ve ever had outside of India (and I lived in India for 3 months). Only qualm I would have is that it’s so wonderfully spiced and salty that you need to bump up your water intake to offset it!
My first visit to this small and intimate restaurant on Ashton Lane in Glasgow's West End good tasty flavoursome food but unfortunately no draft lager only bottles. I have also been to the sister restaurant in the city centre a number of times which I feel was just that little bit better.
The food was absolutely delicious and was delivered without much wait. The staff was both helpful and filled with humor.
And to boot, they have more than affordable prices, as well as one of the best offers on the menu, which lets you pick two small dishes with a side of rice and chapita.
We booked at the wrong spot, but the staff accommodated us and got us a table quickly.
Food was fantastic and nicely spiced. Staff were cheerful and friendly. A pefect end to fantastic day in Glasgow!!
Okay now we are talking. If you haven't already, come to this place to remind yourself how food really should taste. The currys were cooked to perfection, you could actually taste the cooking process and not just a last minute mixing of loads of spices and oil. The bread was on another level, fluffy yet crispy on top. The lamb was cooked perfectly it'd melt in your mouth, I got the lamb bhuna with mushroom. Oh also, make sure you don't go to "the little curry shop" by mistake.
Loved my dinner there . This place is small.
Few tables and one waiter.
The food was so good. Starting with veg. Pakora which was gd and tasty followed by lamb with mint which was unique and tasty . It was mouth watering. the meat was really well cooked and the saucewas so gd.
The chapati was fresh and light .
The place has his own dishes which i think a bit unusual and creative.
Would recommend it and will visit again
