Four of us had the excellent value pre-theatre menu the other evening. Very decent, if unexceptional fare. Generous portions. Crepe starter and chicken mains good. Pleasant space, though the seats are becoming rather worn. Efficient service. Sensible wine choices.
The italian caffe is an nice restaurant, had Tried their platter , good food service was great , wine available by glass so you can try many wine,
Ordered the seafood antipasti platter for two. Very nice! Cold dish of mixed fish consisting of smoked salmon, mussels, prawns, langoustines, etc. Also ordered a few small plates. Margarita pizza, crab risotto and parmigiana di melanzane. All washed down with a few glasses of prosecco. Beautiful! Laid back and very atmospheric.
A big fan of the Italian Kitchen, I expected good things here at its sister restaurant the Italian Caffe. Good they were too. The food was lovely and service spot on. There was a really nice atmosphere and I'd definitely go back for more.
Superb!. Toyed between here and a few of the other nearby Italians in the Merchant City but I definitely made the right choice!
The staff are extremely polite and attentive, the atmosphere is very relaxed and the decor/overall feel of the place is spot on. As for the meals, the tapas idea is a fantastic idea. Portions are decent and reasonably priced, and the food is great.
No complaints whatsoever, would definitely recommend this place over the likes of nearby Italian Kitchen (the partner restaurant), Qua, Amore etc.
Great!!. Always great food , friendly staff, slight annoyance can get a bit noisy at times. Must try Langustines in garlic butter and Ossobuco...Heavenly. Firm favourite.
Great staff and food. Food is fantastic staff great never had any problems with the staff the Manager always polite and helpful I think the negative review was personal and inappropriate regarding Marisa the Manager
Fantastic!. What can I say - food and service fantastic as always. The langoustines, the veal and the duck in particluar need to be tried, and the Trebbiano very wine pleasant as well. Prices are ok - not the cheapest in town but you get what you pay for - food, service and surroundings are terrific; especially if you go on a nice day as there are seats outside which get the sun in the afternoon.
Strange to see the 2 negative comments below about the food and service. My wife and kids and I have been going for about a year now betweeen 2 and 3 times a month (money permitting!) and always look forward to our next visit after a days shopping - dishes made with fresh ingredients and a great selection of wines. Highly recommended!!!
Fantastico !!!. I love italian food, actually I think I should be italian between my love of mafia movies and the food I really think I should have been born there. Anyway, I eat out a lot and always like to try new places so when I came across The Italian Caffe I just had to try it out. As I work in Glasgow I know my way about the town pretty well and spend a lot of time in the Merhchant City as there is some great bars but I had never seen this place before, so decided I had to try it out... what can I say, the food was amazing, the service was great and it was very resonable priced, I would highly recomend checking it out if you like your italian food... ill be back soon !

Went for a chilled Saturday lunch, and the service was amazing.
Really friendly staff with a bit of banter.
Had water in minutes whilst we browsed the menu.
Ordered a lovely lemoncello cocktail it was delicious.
Good was delivered in a timely manner and very well presented. I had the caprse salad followed by risotto and both were full of flavour.
Good portion size too.
Staff were attentive throughout.
Nice atmosphere, music at a good level.

What a pleasant surprise! Would highly recommend going for the smaller tapas dishes from here. Got to taste different pizzas and pastas - so fresh and very very tasty. Will be going back again.
Great food, great service, amazing staff! My friend and I popped in for dinner and were overwhelmingly pleased with how friendly everyone was. The portions and options were variable and I was met with great encouragement when I decided to order two desserts. Charlie gave us tips on where to go in Glasgow and Jude was exceptionally friendly. We had so much fun dining and chatting with all the staff we didn’t want to leave. The owners of Italian Caffe Enoteca better watch out because we might soon be moving in! 10 out of 10 highly recommend if you want honest staff with good and non judgmental dining recommendations and it was very reasonably priced.
Beautiful food. Cocktails were also very good. Service was 15/10. We ordered started to share between two people and it was so filling we didn’t even want a main. Would definitely be coming back. The king scallops is a must! So big so soft and super tasty!
An impromptu lunch here which was amazing!
We shared the bread and oil starter then we had the carbonara with cream - next time I'll have it without as I struggled to finish it but it was absolutely delicious!

Chicken Amatriciana is my main and my little girls is the macaroni (forgot its actual name). Good choice of kids food, lovely staff and will always ALWAYS recommend this place! Amazing!
Food was great, loved the mozzarella sticks! Staff were accommodating for our larger group. Jude was very enthusiastic and provided great service. Definitely an enjoyable experience here!
Food was lovely and staff were nice but dear god the restaurant was roasting hot - uncomfortably so. We asked for heating to go off (it was September) and they did and opened the door. Still roasting tho - maybe there was a problem with the system! Would go back for another try as food was good 👍🏻
The whole dining experience was amazing. Enrico was such a lovely host. The salmon dish from the starters was my favourite and tiramisu cake was just a perfect option to complete the course.
Freshly cooked, fabulously tasty food. Super service and good value. Lovely surroundings, pleasant atmosphere. What more can I say...
