Our first time here and this is one of the best meals I have had for a while. Delicious, fresh, seasonal and well executed.
There was lots on the menu we wanted to try. We will have to come back to try some more dishes.
Favourites for me were the artichoke and the cacio e pepe. The red cabbage also. Oh and all of the rest 😅
It was a little pricy but I think it was worth it.
Very delicious, everything fresh and seasonal and the best focaccia I have tried Bit on the expensive side but def worth it!
Pros:
- Great selection of meat and veggie dishes
- All but one of our plates were delicious (the aubergine dish in particular was amazing)
- The space is nice and bright
Cons:
- The service is lacking, especially given the price point of the restaurant. No one explained the menu to us (most small plates restaurants ask if you've been before and, if not, give you a guideline on the number of plates to order for your table size), no one checked in on us during the meal or offered a dessert menu at the end, and when we ordered wine the waiter just put it on the table and walked away without offering to pour us each a glass
- The pasta was quite thick and undercooked
Overall, the food was really good but for the price, I would expect better service.
One of the best meals out I’ve had in Glasgow! Every dish was delicious and the atmosphere in the restaurant was lovely too. The waiter even gave us some of the amazing focaccia to take home with us. Gloriosa is a must try!
Went here with my boyfriend twice when he was over as we’d walked past at lunchtime and thought something smelled good.
Staff are super lovely and attentive, we felt really looked after here, and the food is superb. Boyfriend and I still having discussions over how the focaccia bread is made and if we can recreate it! Gorgeous wee restaurant.
Probably one of the best meals in a long time. The food is lovingly made whilst you wait. The food is served when it is ready just like home.
They make ambrosia here not just food. The soup which seemed improbable as porcini and fennel was a devine texture and delicious. The roasted butternut squash tasted and looked like orange segments served with chunky spinach was mind boggling good. Brandane proved to be not fried fish and mashed potatoes. Served with boiled eggs and olives. We shared a portion of pumpkin fritters. We had plate envy
Do book ahead. Do allow plenty of time for the various plates and digestion. All in all very civilised. 4 plates between 2 was an outstanding lunch at £40.
As we we’re leaving we got plate envy. The focaccia looked amazing. If only we had space.
NB there were 6 vegan options!
Can’t wait to visit again.
Absolutely lovely atmosphere, delicious food, great prices, perfect portions, kind and friendly team. I enjoyed the egg focaccia and it was quite nice. Most definitely will be back. As a professional server who works in a high-end restaurant, well done Gloriosa!
Gloriosa is a glorious restaurant ;)
Basically, the interior design is great except for the acoustic. This is unfortunately not a great place for acoustically sensitive people - investing in sound absorbing system would really be a big plus.
The food is well thought through but even all the five vegan main version combined don’t feel enough for a filling dinner.
The staff is wonderful!
I‘m looking forward to coming back, next time again for lunch when it’s more quiet.
Thank you
Small plates sharing menu. Short list of options, all done very well with interesting interpretations of some of my favourite tapas dishes. Menu changes frequently, which means I'm highly likely to return several times!
An excellent restaurant with a great atmosphere, friendly staff, and tasty food. Lots of delicious vegan options on the menu - we ordered them all and every dish was superb. The restaurant is dog-friendly too and we received a very warm welcome.
