The service in this restaurant is the best I think I've ever seen . The staff are so polite and friendly and made the visit really enjoyable . The food was really yummy too :) I recommend anyone to go there :)
well what can say 10/10 tried a new dish never had before yousmi chicken might got wrong a pud to die for sago rice and the froffy milky tea to go with it yummy
will go back there next time i stay in Glasgow right next to my hotel as well s you don't have to go far

Got the lunch menu, considerably cheap for £9.50 for drink, starter and main... Got the spiciest jn the menu which is kungpo chicken and it was bursting with flavours! Ordered roti canai for the starter, its pretty oily but the curry is just spot on! The texture and taste is not too strong but just enough
Excellent service, good food.. Visited first time on a Sunday night and it was busy. Would recommed booking a table or phoning ahead. The staff here are very welcoming, friendly and attentive. Made sure our drinks were flowing and took our orders without any delay. Ive never eaten Malayasian so the closest i can compare it to is chinese. However the food is better than any chinese restaurants ive eaten in in Glasgow. Far more authentic seeming, huge portions and decent range of exciting dishes. Try the Laksu. Recommend ordering side of veg as there isnt enough fresh veg through the food. Tendency for food to be a little oily but i am fussy about oil generally. i think their fish dishes will be decent judging by how good our prawn starter was. £36 for two mains, one starter, 2 cokes and 2 beers! If u need a star i would say 3.5.
Me and my husband LOVE this place. We have been twice now. Tasty, fresh food. Lovely staff, bright place and SUPER lunch prices. The won-tons and the Laksa are gorgeous!! Looking forward to going again!
BANANA LEAF. We had the pleasure of a very good dinner at Banana Leaf-Malaysia Chinese, food was authentic,reasonably priced, the staff friendly and the service excellent. We'll be going again.
Home from Home. Really enjoyed the lovely food and service and price. The chief cook really knows his stuff. I have recommended this place to friends and colleagues and all share my enthusiasm for the food there. If you like Malaysian/Chinese food, this is the place to be in !!! 10/10
One of the best Malaysian restaurants in the UK, full stop. I ate here after a month absence of Malaysian cuisine. Ordered the roti canai starter, a firm favourite of mine in Kuala Lumpur (wouldn't mind a roti telur, hint hint) and the nasi lemak, another favourite. They were delicious, matching the flavours I experienced in Malaysia. This little restaurant does get busy, and I can see why. I will definitely be back, the food is fantastic!
Banana Leaf gets very busy quickly, it’s not the type of place to make a reservation, just turn up and hope for the best. If you can’t get a table, they’ll tell you to come back in 15/20 minutes. It’s worth the wait! While in the Restaurant, I looked around to see what everyone else was ordering. I noticed that a lot of the local Glaswegians were asking the waiters what someone else on another table were ordering, in fact, I overheard a table asking about our dishes which made me laugh. The Hainanese Chicken Rice was a favourite with a lot of people along with the Roti to start with, which was another thing I used to have in Singapore a lot.
Located just off sauchiehall street the restaurant is tucked away in a book opposite thistle hotel.
The restaurant specialises in South Asian cuisine specifically Malaysian. The servings are good and it's a wise decision to ask the hostess what to order. The dishes have a very authentic feel but on consultation with a Malay friend was informed the spice content is drastically reduced to make the food more palatable to locals.
Side dishes and starters can be added but each portion of starters is good for one individual. The alcohol selection is small and a tad on the higher side.
An average main course costs about £10 per head.
Authentic Malaysian. Will be craving for the food here. The deco is very presentable and the restaurant is clean. The portion is very generous and beautifully plated. Service was very warm and welcoming too. We were told that the chef is from Malaysia and he is 75 years old!! Huge compliments to the mouth-watering food. Highly recommended!!!!
Very good service, tasty food. I enjoyed this restaurant even though my chicken satay starter came within minutes of ordering but they were gorgeous! The onions and cucumbers really made a difference. Had a processco which was surprisingly nice fresh and sharp! Main meal was delicious. Restaurant was clean and cosy. But got noisy when more diners came.
OMG... one of the best Malaysian street food I have tasted outside Malaysia, definitely worth a visit. Nice chic deco and very pleasant servers. If you are staying at Doubletree, definitely recommend a walk across the street to try this great place.
Best Asian restaurant in Glasgow. I've lived half my life in East and Southeast Asia. Banana Leaf has by far the most authentic flavours I've tasted here (actually anywhere in the UK, for that matter; be prepared for the full intensity of chillies, balachan, etc.). But they are also the most innovative. They serve Malaysian Chinese cuisine, and they have the classic stir fried noodle and rice dishes, and rendang, clay pot seafood and tofu, etc. Many of these dishes are good as any I've had back in Asia. They also change up their menu periodically. I really like their new fried prawns with butternut squash, pork belly with string beans, and lotus root chips (appetizer). And now they have a new tapas-esque summer menu. I've been coming here since moving to Glasgow a few years ago, and this restaurant has been a great antidote against the rain!

Authentic malaysian kitchen with helpful and friendly staff! As we were first timers, they recommended and talked us through the whole menu! So we decided to have various small starters and shared it among us and then we had a main with the most suitable sides. From an allergen labelling point of view vegan, vegetarian and gluten free dishes our marked, just double check any other allergens if you need to!
We were there at lunch time and had the menu for around ~11£ (starter, main, and a drink included). I had the Laksa Soup and it was very delicious. The staff is exceedingly
friendly. We highly recommend the place.

This restaurant is my new favorite while in Glasgow. been here once, and not disappointed at all. Service is always prompt and attentive. Food is delicious and hot. Well priced. Definitely will visit again and again when in Glasgow.
called in last week [Sept 2018] for a quick lunch. Excellent staff. Lovely decor. Outstanding food. The spicy soup was a meal in itself and the squid and vegetables were excellent. Very good size portions and excellent value for money, lunch for 2 was 22-50 with soft drink included. Highly recommended. Like the fire as you walk in, very cosy !
We have been celebrating our wedding anniversary..and had a fantastic dinner party! Were greeted warmly, seated very fast, as our table was already ready. Staff were very helpful and attentive. All of us had a delicious meals!
