Black Rooster Peri Peri

Always a great meal and with huge portion sizes of chicken you can never complain. Also love the extra sides with the fully loaded black rooster nachos, or the peri peri fully loaded fries. Over all great recommendation going here, I’m sure anyone won’t be disappointed with the taste and value for money, with either quick dine in meal, a takeaway or getting a home delivery.

Unassuming shop on the outside but when I got home with my takeway (I ordered direct through the website and collected) and tasted it - really good, better than Nandos! Good portion size, neither too much or too little and the price was in line with what you get. Everything was great, the chicken was excellent - great flame grilled taste and homemade tasting peri peri sauce. The takeway was well packaged, staying hot until I got home. Just a couple wee things to note! The "Hot" sauce isn't what I'd call "hot" (I'd score it 🌶️🌶️ when I expected 🌶️🌶️🌶️) - the peri fries were 'hotter' than the chicken. So next time I'd go for extra hot. The peri fries were tasty but a little too salty. Also you can only pay in cash, which is a minor thing but I rarely use cash nowadays so would be good to be able to pay with card 💳

The food here is very yummy and very cheap. There are lots of spice options so if spicy stuff isn't your thing, you can still eat here. The fries are delicious. The booths for sitting in are nice and makes the place feel so much more cosy, and makes your meal feel much more private. I would have rated it 5 stars but the music is loud to the point that it can be difficult to hear other people speak and you have to raise your voice a fair bit. And you can't pay by card here, it has to be cash. There is a cash machine in the place, but it charges you to take out money. But if you have cash already and you are eating on your own, then I would rate this 5 stars.

Very good chicken at very reasonable prices. The portions are quite large too. The flavour of the sauces is great but be aware they are quite spicy. I really like spicy food and the 'hot' sauce is almost too spicy for me, would recommend the mild. Not much seating inside and isn't the nicest places to sit in but great as a takeaway.

Phoned in a lunchtime order for 5 people in my office. Food was ready on time and order was correct. Something we have struggled with in other similar places! Food was great quality and tasted brilliant. We each had different spice levels and you could tell the difference. Chicken was well flavoured and moist and the sides were a good size and all well prepared. Highly recommended, I'll be back!
