Great dining for a good cause, who doesn’t support that?
The restaurant works with a fixed menu of 4 courses. There are optional courses as well. In each course you can choose between fish, meat or veggie. To each their taste.
Everything is locally produced, which we loved and very much support.
Nice open kitchen and staff is very helpful. The restaurant is quite remote from Glasgow city, but you can get there by bus.
One small thing, it would be nice if the staff would give a little more information on the cause and their mission.
Food is excellent, and lovely to have this on my doorstep. Only drawback was the price of a glass on wine unfortunately. Staff were very attentive, so big shout out to them.
Atmosphere was wonderful, staff absolutely lovely. We had problems finding the venue as the outside lighting wasn’t turned on when we arrived.
It’s apparent that the food is locally sourced, everything was so fresh. All my courses were delightful but my husband’s beef was extremely tough. I did wonder if part of the concept is to keep the costs down by using cheaper ingredients. Although beautifully done, potato confit was a questionable item.
Both deserts were with on the intense side with caramel ice cream, but both were excellent. A fruit option would have been nice.
I didn’t leave feeling over full, which suited me brilliantly. Those with larger appetites might feel underfed, as small portions. The venue ticks all the boxes for guests. Affordable, locally sourced, near public transport, delicious and in aid of The Beatson Cancer charity.
