Bit heavy priced, but good quality large rooms. Nice hiking area, nice pub with snooker in the hotel. Nice owner
An absolute gem of a place, great friendly helpful staff, beautiful room and excellent food. Best for couples or friends wanting a quiet break
2023 Gutted to see this is now private venue hire only and not operating as an hotel
Popped in for a bar meal, lovely venue, very traditional country pub/hotel. It was well presented and spotlessly clean.
The food was delicious, desserts being a highlight. Prices were reasonable, no complaints there.
Service was excellent and the staff were welcoming and friendly.
Can't comment on the rooms but given the rest of the property I'd imagine it would be great for a cosy night away.
Definitely recommended
Our first time here in 25 years: it's now a really cosy family run hotel.
Lovely atmosphere and decor.
The room was clean and comfortable.
Service efficient and friendly, even though Lydia was on her own morning noon and night, she kept really calm and courteous.
It's really great to have a place that keeps it's lounge and games room. So relaxing to have something better to do than watch TV in the room.
We didn’t actually stay but went for an evening meal only. It was all really lovely! Atmosphere was lovely (loved the music playlist) and service relaxed and wonderful. Fabulous help with allergies - thank you! From the starters, main to dessert it was all really, very nice to eat!
We are contemplating coming back again tomorrow! (Sadly) we are then home to Dorset but hope this review helps others to enjoy a lovely meal, in lovey surroundings, with a relaxed but lovely service too! Greatly enjoyed and fully recommend ….
WOW. This family run Hotel is outstanding. From arrival to departure they did a spot on job. Nothing to fault with the exception of not being on my doorstep (glad though, as I would go broke). From the cosy bar to a beautiful dinning room and rooms that just have it all. Stayed here for 2 nights as we were touring the area on our bikes. I can only say that I will be back and looking forward to coming back. If i could give you 6, 7 ,8, or more I would.
This venue is lucky to have this family and it's team doing it the justice it deserves.
Sorry I didn't take any pictures, this your fault for doing such an amazing job I just forgot to take them.
I can't recommend this venue highly enough.
After a wonderful loop in Glen Devon we thought at 430 we'd missed the tea room but found this great wee pub. Brilliant homemade carrot cake and coffee, good value and service. Hope to go back for lunch. Great menu!
We popped in for an early dinner and the food was delicious. Very fresh and so tasty.
Service was first class and could not find fault with anything.
Highly recommend a visit. Prices are decent so good value for money.
We will be back.
Thank you
We stayed for 2 nights whilst at The Open at St Andrews as it was a 50 minute drive away and much more reasonable in price than hotels closer to St Andrews.
The hotel was excellent, full of character, great room and felt super welcome from the moment we arrived. Food at dinner was great and the breakfast was excellent. Couldn’t fault anything at all. Great location too to visit other places such as Gleneagles, will definitely visit again!
Called in here with my elderly parents one Sunday afternoon for lunch, as I was aware the premises had been shut for a while, but were now open for business.
Staff were friendly and welcoming, whilst the restaurant itself was bright and airy. We all had the Sunday roast followed by the sticky toffee pudding and it was all served quickly and tasted delicious.
I was a little concerned that after being closed for a while, they wouldn't be fully up and running, but my concerns were unfounded.
After lunch, there's a little bridge about a 100 yards along the road, where you can cross to the other side of the river and walk off your lunch.
Lovely staff, excellent meal and beautiful location, what more do you want.
