This is really interesting if you like local history. There were things that we recognised from our grandparents homes in the 1960s. The staff were extremely knowledgeable and nothing was too much trouble. We changed some of our plans based on their recommendations. Also their tea and cake was extremely nice. An unexpected gem, not a full day out but a few hours well spent.

Glen Esk Folk Museum now open again after some time closed to the public. The Museum is stocked full of historical agricultural artefacts and items of great interest about the local area and it's past. You could easily spend an hour just looking through the displays. There is a donation wireless device on entry and to assist keeping this resource open its well worth a tap to donate. There is also a linked cafe service basic soup and sandwich type food and of course scones and cakes. Service on cafe is good and very friendly.

Nice place loads of artifacts to see. Food choice is soup sandwiches or toasties. Cakes are home made and really good. Free WiFi, which is handy as there is no mobile signal in the area

A great museum with so many interesting pieces. It is off the beaten track but well worth a trip to visit. The soup, coffee and hospitality are all excellent.

Superbly curated little gem. I thought I'd been up all the Glens then saw sign for this one. Took the Vespa up the Glen, gorgeous weather helps, but this run is a complete delight - probably the prettiest of all the Glens in the area. Great museum, neat wee cafe with pleasant service and excellent views from the outdoor seating. I'll be back.

The staff are very helpful and managed to set up a table for a large group of walkers. Excellent service, nice place to visit for coffee tea and snacks.

The Museum throws light on Highland Communities of yesteryear through local sourced artefacts. I needed a bolt hole and I am now a converted sceptic. Well worth the trek up Glen Esk on its own right apart from the stunning scenery and the sticky ginger was so good I came back a fortnight later. The service and prices were excellent too.

Lovely to see the Folk Museum and restaurant open again. Situated halfway up beautiful Glen Esk and glorious autumn colours. Well worth a visit.
