Came for breakfast from the Premier Inn next door. Friendly staff and efficient service. Hot food cooked to order and ample fresh continental buffet. Lots of places to sit.

Would recommend this place. Ate here when staying at Premier Inn next door. Excellent service in the evening and breakfast. Both meals were very tasty and the ambience was great.

Here for a week,so sampling the food each night. Great menu with a very good variation of food, great for vegetarians, and carnivores like myself. Definitely recommend the Chicken Goujons with Peri Peri dip as a starter.
Main courses have also been superb.
Friendly staff who take the time to talk to you and make you feel very welcome.
Cannot fault this place.
I recommend you book a table.
Highly recommended.

Good value especially as kids eat free. A full English is a great way to occasionally start the day. Kids were a bit disappointed that on our visit they didn't have Nutella for the pancakes like our local one does

Excellent food. Staff were pleasant and efficient. They couldn't do too much to ensure we enjoyed our evening. Thank you.

Turned up , shown to a table - good start. Then it went downhill. Drinks arrived in filthy glasses and smelt stale. Went to bar to get 2 more glasses. They were filthy got 2 more slightly better. Waited 30 minutes to order food then when the waiter did come into our area he tried to take someone else’s order that had just walked in. So after another 30 minutes the food arrive. Very dry chicken, ribs burnt. Chips looked like they had been under the heater for most of the day. Peas the same Asked for ketchup. Still hasn’t arrived Partners food was ok but literally just ok. Let’s pay and get out of here. Terrible food and service. I wouldn’t mind but they aren’t even busy.

A last minute decision to go here and tbh wish we hadn't bothered. Turned up to be ignored at the desk by 3 staff. Finally got told that we would be seated in 5 mins only to wait at least 10. Yet another couple came as a walk in got seated immediately without a booking. The meals were dry, meat over cooked and the mash on both plates was bland and I would not be surprised if it was a substitute like Smash. The portion size for a £10 and £12 main was pathetic. The only redeeming point was our waitress who was very young but attentive in her work. She would however benefit from learning the contents of the dishes as when asked by a different customer if the beef and merlot pie was chunks of beef replied 'I haven't tried the dish myself but yeah I'd think it was chunks' she made no effort to find out from the kitchen which would have shown initiative. Basically, lack of experienced staff and an appalling meal.

Had a meal here last night with friends. Food was excellent - as always, and I've been here often - service was excellent too. Served by Laura who is the perfect hostess. The wait for food wasn't long either despite there being two large parties. Happy to recommend Oakwood to everyone and am very glad a friend introduced me to this lovely restaurant a couple of years ago.

We have so far had breakfast and dinner, both have been excellent, we'll prepared and well presented by very friendly and efficient staff.

This evening was the worse meal here, normally the meals are pretty good, but tonight was not their best night. If anyone has watched national lampoons Christmas vacation then you will know what I mean about the turkey being served, but this tonight was chicken and had the same look. Will continue going but for Christ sake clean the place up and serve better meals!!

Just celebrated my 60th Birthday. There was 28 guests and we had the conservatory/ India area . The staff bent over backwards to make my day really special . The carvery was superb and everyone enjoyed their food. Our host for the day was Laura who I believe is the Assistant Manager . She really went the extra mile . Thankyou

Had Christmas lunch yesterday and the excuse was "it's not the kitchen it's taking time to turn the tables" 40 minutes late being seated.
The waiter however was polite and the Christmas dinner was nice.

Enjoyable meal as always and staff friendly we all had steaks which were cooked as requested

Walked in to have dinner waiting to be seated when a gentleman ? Behind the bar started using the F word rather liberally my husband asked him politely to mind his language and we were told to F***Off we walked out will never visit that place again disgusting

Not enough staff I was told the Longford was closed maybe they were busier than usual. Went to lunch about 17 of us lunches were all pre ordered but it was muddled. I had my lunch ok but others were kept waiting.

A repeat customer. Always have good service, with a good choice of food. Loyalty scheme provides numerous promotions and discounts, which makes it excellent value too. Ben - The Manager - can't do enough for you and is always polite but friendly. Nice to see a Manager who gets stuck in, especially if the restaurant is busy or staff are off sick. Keep up the good work! We will be back soon!
