Sat in the beautiful beer garden surrounded by tubs and hanging baskets brimming over with flowers, with a stream running alongside. I ordered calves liver and my partner had the fish cakes...both were delicious and well priced. Both meals plus four drinks was less than £40.
A lovely place to stop on a summers afternoon for drinks and a bite to eat, there's a large outdoor seating area with extra parking at the rear. Children are welcome and can play in the small play area with swings and a slide or take their shoes and socks of and walk safely in the stream.
This is such a lovely pub with a stream and beautiful flower displays everywhere. The landlord takes real pride in the garden and has won several awards. There is no better place to sit and have a pint and meal on a summer day and it is surrounded by beautiful walking country. I come several times a year when I'm walking and it is always good. The food is nice and varied, the real ale excellent and the staff are always friendly and cheerful. And you can go wild paddling!
Lovely place this , took my mum here for lunch and she also loved it , very well kept flowery garden and calming stream running through that you can paddle in . I had a fish finger sandwich which I highly recommend- they were not Birdseye fishfingers but proper fish in batter almost like mini fish and chips fish and the chips were also amazing . Mum had a BLT which wasnt as good but I think I was spoilt by the fish finger sandwich. Friendly staff and food didnt take long although it wasnt busy.
Another excellent lunch on a beautiful day. The atmosphere is great and the staff are friendly.
The atmosphere here is absolutely stunning. The bar is inside the cottage. They have a beautiful outdoor garden that has seating. There is a stream that runs under the deck where you can sit. They are kid and dog friendly and even have a play area for the little ones. Parking spots are light so we had to curb park it up the street but just a short walk away.
We ordered at the bar both drinks and food at the bar and you give them your table number to bring food out to you. Service was quick and the food was delicious. Bar assistant was helpful with making choices and answering questions.
So I think this place really thrives off it’s rustic status, to be honest if it had a revamp it would feel a bit weird, it’s the kind of pub that thrives off looking a little tired.
I didn’t get to eat so I can’t comment on that, but I will definitely go back to try the food.
The staff behind the bar were super friendly and this is the reason I’m giving it five stars, had it not been for her welcoming and friendly service I would probably give this place 4 stars.
They had Tribute and Sheer Drop so I was happy and the Tribute tasted fresh, I find in some places it can taste a little stale and old because they don’t clean the pipes and it’s left in the barrel to long but not here, it tasted fresh and was a lovely pint.
Looking forward to my next visit to have food at which point I will update my review.
The food took ages to arrive. But. It was perfect and well worth the wait.
Really lovely pub. Took a break while hiking, there was live music (the southern deal) which was amazing.
Beautiful location but the foods are not up to the exception.
Great place and good food. Friendly pub. Would happily return
Very nice meal. Good friendly barman. Well worth a visit. Sitting at the side of a stream.
