Great place, friendly and efficient staff, very happy vibe, and the portions and quality of food is excellent recommend 100%
Definitely returning
Popped in last year for the first time by chance, and it ended up being the best meal of the holiday. Went again yesterday and we weren't disappointed. Great food, had to wait a little bit but that's the price you pay for fresh food. Portion size was more than enough and the staff were great. Good value for money.
We called here today for a coffee and a snack whilst walking on the beach. The cafe was really busy but we got a seat outside with our little dog. A dog water bowl was provided. Unfortunately dogs are not allowed inside. There is a unisex toilet inside available to customers. We ordered a coffee and scone and a bottle of sparkling water it was just under £10.00. The fruit scone was lovely. Service was quick and efficient.
Lovely cafe right by the beach. We stopped for a coffee, cake and ice cream for the dogs.
They do have a larger menu with a lot more food that looked really good. The cake was lovely, the coffees were great although my mum had an iced coffee and said it was way too sweet. I think they add Syrup to it so if you don't like sweet coffee I'd ask for it without. It is abit pricey, but it is a large slice of cake. We didn't finish ours so maybe share one slice between 2
Visited last Monday, and was delighted to find that the cafe is incredibly dog friendly. The cafe has been through a lot of changes since my childhood, and now has a different feel to it.
There's a friendly atmosphere throughout the cafe, which spreads to the customers. It's lucky I ordered a cold sandwich, because by the time I got round to eating it, several conversations had been had with other dog walkers.
Of course, one of the big things to look for in a dog friendly cafe is how the staff interact with dogs, and any provisions for dogs. You can order a dog sausage for your pooch, ready sliced so you're not having to chop up pieces to keep your dog happy whilst you eat, whilst a tub of water is left outside. Very important in the July heat. Whilst there was a takeaway hutch, ordering was done inside, and the staff seemed understanding of my dog's insistence on trying to jump up and see what was happening.
Perhaps the only downfall for Jay Jay's is the price, with a prawn marie rose sandwich setting an £8.50 hole in your pocket. However, given that Jay Jays has stepped away from the traditional seaside favourite of battered fish and chips (which can be found in its droves at the northern end of Gorleston beach), it's clear that Jay Jay's isn't intended for a cheap and cheerful bite to eat, but certainly for something a little different with a fantastic view.
Very friendly and dog friendly outside, although you can take your dog in to order if by yourself. Lovely view of beach and sea. Large and very tasty food selection, delicious coffee.
Not the cheapest, but quality products.
Loved this place. It's the perfect beach cafe - a real gem.
Coffee is top notch. The fresh cake and cookie selection is nothing short of spectacular.
The staff are so attentive - one saw my mum queuing for the toilet and said she could use the staff one instead (wow!). All this on their busy fete day too. Amazing.
Stopped for coffee and cake, I had a mocha which was lovely and my husband had a black coffee and almond slice both were excellent. Nicely situated right on the beach front with inside and outside seating. Staff were friendly.

Friendly staff, great choice of cake and service was quick. Only criticism was, for me, music was too loud and invasive, I just wanted to hear the sea.
Lovely beach side cafe with a huge selection of cakes and hot food and drinks.
Seats outside and inside.
Lucky enough to visit the fantastic Jay Jays today. Ordered fish finger sandwich and it was more freshly cooked fish fillets than I’ve often been served for a fish supper! Amazing. Also recommend the other meals, breakfast bap, Brie & walnut panini and ‘dirty wedges’ (home made chilli topped wedges). We were rather full and very happy by the end of this feast. Lovely cheerful staff too who were really keen to make sure we enjoyed our visit.
Hard to choose a cake - wanted one of each! A good place to visit. Dogs not allowed inside but there are a few tables outside.
