This place is a little put of the way, but as with all Toby's, it is worth a visit.
The service is prompt and friendly, and the only challenge is how much you can get on your plate before things start to fall off.
The value is good, the quality and quantity are excellent, and the mid week deals are not to be missed.
First time coming to this location, however very polite and friendly staff, treat you very well like a high class restaurant. The food was very nice, food of choice was the carvery, the meat was delicious, melt in the mouth. However whether it was because the heat lamps were too high, or the sides had been left there too long, items like the mash potato and veg were slightly dry, and the mash didn't appear to have been mashed 100% but for those who like the dry crumbly type mash it was very nice..
The atmosphere was very chilled and relaxed, with a gentle cool breeze from the air con. Definitely one I'd visit again if I was in the area, but not the beat I've been to
First time we visited, our experience was fantastic. Great service and food!
However, the second time we visited; the man that was serving our food was nothing other than a “ drip” we waiting a long while to be served, he was rude and rather abrupt! We waiting so long that even another member of staff asked if he’s been back out yet! Finally when he did come out to serve us food, he had to return to the kitchen again for more meat!
We were happy to wait, but seeing as we had two small children with us who’d already had their food just moments before, by the time we got back to the table they’d almost finish their!!
But, the food was amazing, and our server was very polite and helpful… even offered the children colouring books cause she saw one was upset! It’s a shame about that one particular staff member… other wise it’s a fab place to go for food!
We visited earlier this week and were greeted by a happy friendly lady who took us to our table. Our young waiter Brandon was polite and helpful.
Myself and my partner really enjoyed our meals. My partner also had a lovely dessert; I was too full to have one.
After our food we had coffees in the bar. The bar was homely and cosy.
Love it here. Have been for breakfast and Sunday carvery with family. The music is a little louder for my taste during breakfast but I’m miserable in the mornings anyway. I’ve also had a takeaway from here on a number of occasions. It’s huge! You will not be disappointed.
The food was delicious as usual. It was very busy due the special offer. Our only complaint is that we were sat in the conservatory on a very hot day. There were no curtains to shield us from the sun and the windows didnt open. In the end we had to change tables. Waiter was excellent.
The food as usual was just awesome, carrots could be cooked a little longer because they were hard and crunchy, but what I had was just awesome. The young lady serving us was really busy but had time to help us with any queries and was very helpful, so I gave her a tip.
We did have one winge and that was it was far to hot in there, so air conditioning would have been nice, we were really sweaty but the time we finished the meals.
I am now a regular at the carvery and look forward to my next visit.
Carvery was good. The place was busy. The tables were clean. The toilets could of been a little more cleaner. The queue to the carvery varied even through the day.
Got parked easily. The only thing for me that let it down on the carvery was, there was no Brussels and no parsnips but I guess it is not the season for them.
Visited that Toby Carvery on a Sunday evening and it was quite busy so be ready for some waiting to be served. We were a little tired waiting, it seemed that one guy was working for the whole hall, but when he came to us, we noticed this guy with long red hair and cute freckles could just save any place and any situation! Super polite and attentive! He's gem that is rare. Let the management know ;) The food was delicious and we left the place full and happy.
Roast dinner was amazing as always but the que for your dinner is ridiculous especially when your disabled. I asked one of the young ladies serving if my husband could stand in the que until he got near the front and to text me to come join him because I'm disabled, which she kindly said yes of course but felt embarrassed because it looked like I was jumping the que. Roast dinner is outstanding!!
