Utterly delicious home cooked food. We had the lamb stew, butternut soup and beetroot & sauerkraut toastie - YUM. Loads of GF and DF options. A rare find. Lovely people and vibe. Kitch decor. Dog friendly

Wonderful local café. Staff were lovely, food was exceptional (try the roast beef bagel), fair prices & most importantly.. Great coffee. Also, we loved that this place is called 'Yam Frae Yam', which we've been told means 'Home from home' in Cumbrian dialect 😊

Best stop locally for breakfast, lunch or a light bite. Really good coffee and cakes too in a nice chilled cafe. Food is always good, well seasoned and exceptional value. Very attentive and friendly service too. Highly recommend!

The lady was extremely busy and had a full cafe of customers and did an amazing job at managing everyone’s expectations nothing was compromised even taking time to ask how we want the toast cutting for our children and enquiring about smaller cutlery for them the coffee was amazing. The entire menu looked tasty with real thought gone in to ensuring this is not just another cafe.. even the toast looked good how you make toast look as good as they did is a skill I don’t possess ..the breakfast looked and tasted amazing this cafe is worth a visit !!!!

On my way to the Wasdale Head Inn, had a hard couple of days riding but I decided I'd stop at the next place I found. Just happened to serve up the best fried breakfast I've had in years. Staff friendly and helpful, cute and comfy place to stop.

Absolutely outstanding. I don't say this loosely but the sausage and bacon bun was one of the best I'd ever had! Rest of the tables food was amazing. The place is so cute and quirky too. We loved it and will be back. All local produce was used which we support 🙏❤️

I really like the place. There is a free public parking around the corner. The interior is recently and rather tastefully refurbished. The staff is welcoming without abundance. The food is... ok and the prices are refreshingly reasonable. But I have to be honest, I am somewhat following my heart giving the place 5 stars, as there is some room for improvement. The food, albeit mostly really tasty and showing masterful flavour combinations, had some obvious (and easy to correct) drawbacks. Burger patties were great, but I did not quite like just-off-the-fridge cold buns. Sandwiches were really high quality and tastefully toasted, but a touch of garnish on a side would make the plate look ten times richer. Latte and cappuccino were just bad, sorry. Over-roasted beans and overheated milk -- had to save the drinks with sugar, which is a bad omen for milky coffees. Having said all that, I really enjoyed the visit and will be happy to visit again if I am nearby.

Me and my partner popped in on the off chance as we drove by from Seascale, and what a great decision. Amazing food, incredible service and gorgeous decor. We took our 6 month old pup in with us and she was happy as anything in the calm atmosphere inside. Will definitely be back if we ever pass again.
