We were visiting from Australia to see the town where my dad grew up. I wasn’t even that hungry, just thought I’d grab a quick bite and found this bakery. My goodness, the lasagne pie was unbelievable. It was so good I made a guts of myself and went back for the macaroni pie, which was also amazing. Great find. Highly recommend.

Breaks my heart to see what they’ve done to this institution of a cafe. Modernisation is utterly soulless with limited food offering and low grade cakes. Has always been a stop off for us and the family when doing the river and forest walk but needs to step up if we are to return

Came in about 20 minutes past 12 and hadn't noticed the breakfasts had finished. Ordered anyway and staff were very accommodating. Big veggie breakfast with tea, just 7.25. Terrific value, much recommended!

Stopped in during the Thunder motorcycle event and tried the Chicken and Haggis pie. Absolutely sensational, probably worth a trip to Scotland just for that!
