Cocktails here are very nice. Place looks great and is in a great location. Place was kept clean and has great views of the river.
Went here twice during our short break in Grasmere. Lovely staff, very tasty food and good (very) local beers. Best pub in the village as far as I’m concerned. We called in after a 21km hike over to the Langdales and back and had the soup, dirty fries and copious amounts of beer. Very good and lovely service. Thanks X
Hummus with crusty bread was good. I would have enjoyed a spice or splash of interesting flavor to make the hummus great. Cask lager was very solid.
Found this place as I was staying in Grasmere and was delighted to see they had a local brewery. Spent a good few hours sampling all they had to offer - included their own gin selection. Everything was incredible.
Then moved onto the food; for starters we had the sharing platter which was sublime. I had the lamb burger for main (pictured) which was cooked to perfection. Can’t wait to make a return visit!
The good sport offers completely local sourced food with great dishes. For starters I recommend the Dirty fries. For main dishes the spaguettis with lamb meat are delicious, also the lamb burger is a must (not spicy at all). Good fish and chips and worth teying the seafood pasta. Great restaurant, probably on of the best of Grasmere.
Food was super (burger, chips, onion rings). Beer is great and overall very nice!
Absolutely fabulous meal with lovely attentive staff.
We had the ham hock to start, which was fabulous. I just wish I didn't agree to sharing it with my other half! We then had Diry fries and the lamb burger, which were faultless. Had to try the dessert, which we really didn't need, but had to have 😀
Would happily recommend and revisit any time.
Thank you
Lovely little pub, stopped for a drink and some food after a hike. Met a lovely lad called Elliot who lived nearby, had a cup of tea and a chat with him. Such a nice young man, I'll be coming back again soon, hopefully I will see him again...think he works nearby
Great friendly pub with sound grub and a nice selection of local ales. Had a lovely lunch basking in the sunshine outside.
Pretty perfect eating experience. On-line booking, quality food, plenty of choice, local ingredients, friendly and helpful staff and ‘quite possibly’ one of the the tastiest IPA’s (Grasmere Brewery) I’ve had in a long time. Fabulously tasting main courses and puddings (Why cold custard?) Don’t get me wrong it’s not cheap by any stretch of the imagination with ‘gastro-pub’ pricing but value for money.
