Poet's Cafe Bar At Helm Crag - Grasmere - Photo album

Had a lovely restorative late lunch after a rainy hike. Delicious soup and crusty bread served by cheerful and attentive Serene. We really enjoyed the experience!
Relaxed and friendly cafe at end of our Helm's Crag Hike. New girl, learning the ropes, was super friendly and accommodating despite it being her first day. Yummy bacon breakfast bap for my husband and vegan breakfast bap for me. Delightful coffee and outdoor picnic benches in sunshine and shade com
Tucked against the hill, don't miss this tearoom and bar! Love the view and they have yummy baked goods to fuel your walking journey.
Good spot to get coffee or a pint before a walk! They provide oat milk for vegans, and the coffee was delicious
We had a delightful rest at the Poet's Cafe in June 2023 after a long hike. It is about 15 minutes walk from Grasmere town center and very quiet, and peaceful. If you sit outside the view is stunning. We had a couple of lovely plant-based dishes which were tasty and original followed by a flapjac
Friendly service & a great pint after a long trek around Grasmere Common.
Super cafe for the end of a hike. You can park for £6 and redeem the parking charge for coffee and tea. Brilliant! Watch out for Pebbles the cat who might hike some of the way with you too
Weee made really welcome by wonderful staff today. So friendly and gave great service.
Stopped here today for food and drinks, the food was outstanding they have a small plates menu which is new, and what can I say... wow best food in the lake district, portion sizes spot on, good variety, excellent value and the food extremely tasty and cooked to perfection. Highly recommend the plac
Fantastic location. Child friendly. Perfect for a drink on the return from Helm Crag.
Very much enjoyed our visit. Great service.
Enjoyed a delicious lunch here on our way to Helm Crag. The hosts were very friendly and made us feel welcome. We sat in the bay window and the view was superb!
Superb spot for lunch. Stopped here on the way back from Helm Crag (when we were still around 20 mins away from Grasmere). Quiet, idyllic spot with a great view of a valley and greenery. A good offering of ciabattas for lunch which were delicious. Definitely worth stopping here as it’s a lovely plac
Enjoyed a Sunday roast in the beer garden before heading up Helm Crag. Really fast and friendly service even though there were a lot of people eating. Hope to come back in the future and would highly recommend.
Lovely setting and beautiful gardens next to Wordsworth's Woods with access footpath to Helm Crag (The Lion and The Lamb) - a great walk for the whole family. Arboretum, play area for kids, toilets, good food and dog-friendly. Car parking is free.
Idyllic setting and scenery. Enjoyed my liquid lunch. If approaching from Keswick watch your sat nav does not take you off to early down some very narrow (no passing places). Better to route via Grassmere. NOTE: cafe/bar part of hotel.
Stopped for tea and scones after a walk up Hell Crag. Lovely views and very peaceful.
