we have never had a bad meal at the buck, excellent value for money too. staff has always been pleasant and polite. on reading some of the comments it almost seems like a different place to the one we go to in ayton.

Myself and my daughter both ordered parmesans one pork one chicken, both were absolutely delicious 👌🏽 Would definitely recommend and will be returning very soon.

The service was faultless. We got a friendly welcome and didn't have to wait long for a table though we didn't book.
The two waitresses who looked after us were great.
Enjoyed a lovely Sunday dinner here. Fresh veg and homemade yorkshire puds, even got a little bit of crackling with the pork. Plenty of meat and a jug of gravy was given when requested. Will definitely be going back again soon.

I went The Buck for the first time yesterday with my husband yesterday and although we didn't book a table we were sat down straight away and had a choice of table. We sat next to the window and had a lovely view of the river.
We both decided to order Chicken Parmos. I really liked the idea of being able to choose my own toppings at a reasonable price too. I opted for Roasted Peppers and Red Onion. My husband had a plain parmo. Our food was amazing and the chips & salad was lovely too. Great value for money, the food was so tasty.
From the moment we entered till the moment we left we were made to feel welcome. The staff were so lovely and friendly and we can easily say we will definitely return again in the near future.
The Pub is a really great place. Staff was really friendly and helpful. Really nice atmosphere. Food was amazing. I had a dish off the specials and it was excellent. Partner had a pork hotshot parmo and said it was one off the best he's eaten. Must try the onion rings amazing. Desserts was fabulous. Definitely going back

Ate here after a day walking. Very friendly staff, good service and most importantly, amazing food. Not being from the area we don't often get the chance to eat Parmos so took the opportunity. It was soooo good!
Lovely pub, with great food. Not a vast menu, but plenty of imaginative choices. I had the half Chicken Parmo with a side salad, which was exceptionally tasty and generous. I can't imagine being able to do justice to the whole one. Very generous portions & the sweet potato fries are probably the best I've had. All nicely presented. Friendly staff and reasonable prices. Another star in our short visit to beautiful North Yorkshire.

Stopped on our way home from a shopping trip. Just picked it off Google by looking at the reviews. My son had a "Parmo" which he enjoyed and we both had "steak pie". Normally I like shortcut pastry but it had good reviews. It actually came in a large dish like a stew with something like a puff pastry Croissant on top. Whilst a bit unusual the meat was beautiful and tender with a lovely Gravy, very tasty. It came with accompanying vegetables and chips or mash, we both really enjoyed it. I would eat the same thing if I came again.
Great farmhouse parmo and lovely steak sarnies. Friendly staff and nice atmosphere. Lovely outside seating for when the weather suits it sitting by the river, Recommended.
Update: Dec 2023 meat feast parmo was amazing with loads of meat slices under a generous amount of cheese but not overpowerering. Thanks for a lovely meal.

Parmo was nice. Its all about the breadcrumbs and sauce here. It just felt as if ownership being little greedy charging per topping if you want a traditional HotShot parmo and/or Garlic Sauce, ended up costing £6 additional which doesn't seem fair on customer. Jamies Hot sauce is just Sweet chilli sauce charged at £1.50, again bit of a rip off.
Lovely evening at the Buck last night. Arrived 20 minutes early for our reservation time so wasn’t sure if we were able to be seated however lady who served us was really kind and showed us to our table straight away.
Ordered drinks and two large parmos with sides which were amazing! Always come to the buck for the parmesans as they are the best!
Was my partners first time visiting and he thought it was really nice and the food was lovely for a reasonable price for the portion!

Food was spot on, however i ordered a pepperoni chicken parmo and never got any pepperoni, hence the 4 stars. Apart from that it was perfect👍
Lovely Sunday dinner , had the small chicken and it was big enough with plenty of vegetables. Can't fault any thing friendly helpful staff especially when you leave your keys in the pub like I did 🤣. Thanks again.
Didn't eat there but.the food looked excellent. Would love to have had chance to eat the steak pie! Although fully booked upon entry, staff found us places to sit for 8 people for a few drinks
We only stopped for a quick drink, but having looked at the menu we will be going back. Staff very friendly, lots of outside space too.
Top food, top service and very reasonably priced. One of my favourite places to eat. The parmos are brilliant and their chips are the best 👌
