I went The Buck for the first time yesterday with my husband yesterday and although we didn't book a table we were sat down straight away and had a choice of table. We sat next to the window and had a lovely view of the river. We both decided to order Chicken Parmos. I really liked the idea of being able to choose my own toppings at a reasonable price too. I opted for Roasted Peppers and Red Onion. My husband had a plain parmo. Our food was amazing and the chips & salad was lovely too. Great value for money, the food was so tasty. From the moment we entered till the moment we left we were made to feel welcome. The staff were so lovely and friendly and we can easily say we will definitely return again in the near future.

Lovely pub, with great food. Not a vast menu, but plenty of imaginative choices. I had the half Chicken Parmo with a side salad, which was exceptionally tasty and generous. I can't imagine being able to do justice to the whole one. Very generous portions & the sweet potato fries are probably the best I've had. All nicely presented. Friendly staff and reasonable prices. Another star in our short visit to beautiful North Yorkshire.

Lovely evening at the Buck last night. Arrived 20 minutes early for our reservation time so wasn’t sure if we were able to be seated however lady who served us was really kind and showed us to our table straight away. Ordered drinks and two large parmos with sides which were amazing! Always come to the buck for the parmesans as they are the best! Was my partners first time visiting and he thought it was really nice and the food was lovely for a reasonable price for the portion! Definitely coming back again!

We only stopped for a quick drink, but having looked at the menu we will be going back. Staff very friendly, lots of outside space too.

I've not been here for a long time but we decided to visit on Sunday. Place looks totally different but we loved it. It definitely needed a change. Staff were friendly, lovely atmosphere and food was gorgeous. We sat inside for our food then sat out in the sun enjoying the views. If you ever get to Great Ayton, definitely come here. We stayed overnight in a lovely guest house a stones throw away. Lovely weekend and we will definitely do it again ❤️

We arrived early and were seated in a little side room to the front. I chose from the specials selection, Chicken & King Prawn spaghetti in a pesto, sunblush tomato & cream sauce. Was very well cooked and tasted flavoursome. I couldn't finish it all, and felt too much pasta really. My partner ordered the Chicken ala Buck which was also very nice. We would recommend both dishes. I also had the garlic bread, but with added pizza tomato sauce, it was a lovely dish. Only other slight bugbear was the fact we had quite a few flies buzzing around us throughout the meal. They could do with trying to clear them out more. Staff seemed efficient and came across friendly. Great that it is such a dog friendly place. Maybe add a few dog treats on the bar. Couldn't see any.

Stopped off on Sunday on the off chance that they could fit us in. Place was busy but they could get us a table for two in 30 minutes. The pub looked really nice, tables had space around them so you didn’t feel crushed. Sunday menu looked good with the roast options but fancied something different. Went for scampi and my wife a Parmo. Both dishes arrived pipping hot, tasted lovely and reasonable sized portions. Waiting staff are very busy and constantly moving around clearing up/dropping off. Will come back another time.

Lovely, juicy scampi with fresh rocket. Really tasty and a good price. Would like to see a wholemeal or granary option of bun instead of only ciabatta. Very friendly and welcoming.
