Amazing little find in the middle of the countryside! The food was incredible and the staff were so welcoming and lovely. We had the rabbit gnocchi and the penne with Sicilian sausage and they were both perfect! It's so rare to see rabbit on a menu in the UK, especially at a village pub, but it was amazing! One of the best meals I've had in a long time! The staff were so friendly as well, and the two pub dogs were adorable!! Would definitely recommend to anyone that is passing through or staying in the vicinity, all food is freshly prepared and it shows! Thanks again!

Great food and excellent service. This is a gem of a place and I'm glad I found it. You can think of it as traditional pub food with an overhaul to really bring out and complement the flavours involved. The food has obviously been thought through and the menu kept small which is a good sign that they will actually cook it and not defrost-and-microwave it. Deserts are made on the premises and they have a good wine menu too. Dinner for two with starters and dessert around £60 plus wine. One other thing; I went there for a romantic dinner before valentine and asked for a rose in a vase. A simple thing but they remembered and they did it it. She was impressed and noticed ours was the only table bedecked with one. I will most likely go here for my Birthday too. Mainly because they have an extensive Gin menu available too, and I aim to get merry. ;)

Had a lovely dinner with friends at The Swan, we had a mixture of pizza and pasta dishes and everything was freshly prepared and simply delicious. Plus a friendly atmosphere. Highly recommended!

This place is a Gem. We booked the The Swan for a family lunch to celebrate my husband's birthday - there were 14 of us in total. I arrived in the morning to put up a few decorations and was shown to a secluded section of the pub which was ideal. Gary, (one of the owners) worked with me suggesting options for the table layout. I then met Grame, (the other owner) who was also full of ideas and gave me various options for our lunch, including how we might use their lounge area before/after lunch. I then knew that I'd made the right choice with this venue. These guys are seriously professional with their approach to dining. They know how to create the perfect atmosphere. Now to the food: This is an absolutely easy FIVE STARS. Each course was cooked to perfection - for starters; the stilton soup was heavenly (mine) My husband had the calamari - the best he'd ever had (and this is praise indeed, he enjoys fine dining on a regular basis). The mains were all exceptional - most had the Sunday roast which is on another level in terms of flavour and flair, beautifully home cooked to the highest standard and good portions. I chose the vegetarian dish which was the polenta cake also cooked to perfection with a fabulous mix of mushrooms and served with a rich creamy sauce. Now onto deserts - yes divine: Eton mess/cheesecake/Ice-creams, all served with a lovely twist. Attention to detail is the key to this place. We WILL be going back - just wish we lived closer! Many thanks to you both Gary and Graeme for creating a memorable experience xx

Small village pub with a simple menu but we had two steaks with all the trimmings offer for a Saturday night for £22. Very tasty. Definitely all the trimmings. Friendly owners, super service. Thankyou.

Just been taken over, so finding their feet. Back bar was quite busy with locals, small but with pool tabke! But front bar with log fires and great seating area. Not good for children, and car park very small. May visit again if passing through

In short - Wonderful vegan food, really cosy atmosphere and helpful and conscientious staff (especially the young lad who only started three days ago!) The portobello mushroom burger and nachos were incredible, can't wait to go back :)
