Tasty food Heard good things about this place, so booked a table for lunch. It's a small tea room, but it's has numerous tables outside for when the weather is better. The service is very good and we didn't have to wait long before our food came out. I ordered savory scones with pork terrine and it didn't disappoint, it was very tasty and the portions were generous. They also make they're own cakes and always have a good selection to choose from. The coffee is also very good here. If your looking for a traditional west country place to have lunch, with some great food, then pop yourself along to the Old Farmhouse Kitchen and Tearoom

I’ve been taking family & friends to this lovely family run business since they first opened. There’s a nice tearoom & a very big garden area, plenty of well spaced tables. Lots to keep children amused. Ideal for choosing gifts, many are country themed but a good choice of others too. I find the selection of “JellyCat” cuddle toys saves me going into town to search out.

Without a doubt, the best cream tea I've ever had! Seated us in despite no booking. The staff were brilliant. We will be heading back again and again! Can't wait to try more from the menu.

The Old Farmhouse made us afternoon tea to take away. The vegetable quiche was delicious. We all agreed the scones were the best we've ever tasted! 😋 The cupcakes were pretty and so soft and yummy. Will be going back for more!

Just a couple of miles away from Great Torrington. There is a small drive to the farmhouse from the main road. There is limited parking available. The restaurant has about 5 tables inside that range from a table for 2 to a very large table that could hold maybe 8 or more persons. The family runs this great tearoom. The menu is good and the food is first class. Nice sized portions too. The ploughman's lunch was fantastic. Outside there are lots of seating available. When the weather is nice it is very nice to sit outside. There is a toilet on site which is separate from the restaurant. This is shared by the family who own the farmhouse. It even has a shower! If you require any dietary requirements please phone them as they can usually help you. This is a very nice place and it really is a hidden gem. Well worth a visit if you are in the area. Please note that you should phone beforehand to ensure that the tea rooms are open.

Amazing! Great service, replied to my endless messages about dogs (outside only), are the opening times up to date (yes) and to book (they seemed to have limited tables although it was valentine's Day, so we did book. Food was really top quality, beautifully presented, generous. Lovely venue. Lots of tasteful children books, toys decor, as well as gifts to buy.

This place is a gem! Serving Thursday - Monday 11-5pm this is the perfect local place to visit either for a quick bite or a full meal. There is seating inside and out (we sat out to soak up the scenery) and it's all true! There is a trampoline, rabbits and toys 😅 we amused ourselves by trying these out before our food came, we also had the privilege of patting milkshake the calf 🙂 I had a chorizo toastie with a delicious salad of leaves, beetroot, strawberries and balsamic dressing. I feel it's important to point out how interesting the salad was as I'm so used to the usual cucumber-that'll-do side salads you see everywhere else! My partner enjoyed a deliciously varied ploughman's (couldn't resist sampling his). The bread was wonderously cheesy and thick and looked homemade. My chorizo toastie was better than expected, the chorizo was thinly sliced and the cheese perfectly packed. Honestly, absolutely delicious! We were so impressed we couldn't resist try the cream tea too. Best scones in Devon, possibly in the south west actually. Perfectly fluffy without being crumbly. Great sized portions when it came to the cream and jam and there is a strawberry or raspberry option. The customer service here is excellent. You are greeted the moment you step through the gate and completely looked after throughout your meal. You can wait or request your bill and can pay by card or cash, your waiter will guide you into the house for the former where cakes are available to buy as takeaway. It may be different of eating inside but as we weren't, signs directed us to toilets that are around the outside of the house and in the back side door. It felt a little like trespassing but it was okay, the door had a clear sign once in so we knew we were in the right place. The bathroom was very clean and homely with books and hand creams available alongside soaps and towels. I definitely plan to return here, a fantastic experience and very family friendly.

What a lovely place to visit ! There’s rabbits, horses, cats and a trampoline. There are so many toys and games for children to play with- tractors, football, connect 4, sandpit and water pit. The staff are so friendly and approachable. They have a beautiful summer house with plastic kitchen- my 2 year old was entertained for ages ! The cakes are all home made and so tasty !! To top it off not only are you surrounded by stunning views of the countryside, but they even had a calf and we were able to feed it !

Fantastic garlic mushrooms and the caramel cheesecake was light and fluffy. Service was quick and homely. Can’t recommend this place any higher. Nearly forgot the donkeys 👍🍰
