Ballot Box

Our first same day experience began at the soft play which is very dark and seems unfriendly for me but the kids was having fun. The kids definitely need to be dressed for a very hor experience if they are older than 4 since they will have the chance to run and jump. The staff from the soft play was kind of unfriendly and seemed unexperienced. They saw me giving the two of my kids some food, at the table, when the other one was eating at the party and they told me the outside food is not allowed. Honestly I didn't know since they don't sale any food except crisps and sweets, but the way they wanted to kids to stop eating food inside at the table was very rude and stupid Honestly. I said I will stop giving they food and I closed the box but they pretending for the kids to go outside instantly to finish eating (some rolled pancake). I explained it will never happen since they are not wearing shoes and they will definitely finish eating at the table. After the party we went to the pub and the food was okay. The service was good but not excellent like the food too. The staff didn't had any smile to share with us, especially the bar staff when we ordered the food. The lady toilets was soo smelly like all you want to do is to run out of there, to not forget we are talking about a food place. The soap dispenser was to tall even the 9 yrs kids wasn't able to reach to the soap and in the corner for other people to wait till you finish washing your hands. I do really hope some changes will be made in the real time since it is a very good rated place.

Value for money, you can't go wrong with the Hunger Horse. The bar staff and waitress were very friendly and helpful. The food was lovely and hot. We had fish & chips, New York chicken, and a steak ale pie all very tasty. The only small criticism is that the garden pea needed cooked a little longer for our liking.

Took my fiancé and our daughter out to the Ballot Box today. We began at the soft play- the wacky staff gave my daughter a high five which we thought was lovely. The play area was clean and some of the play equipment looked brand new. After playing we went next door and ordered the salmon and lasagna- was delicious and nicely portioned. The young gentleman that served us was somewhat of a bon vivant and helpfully assisted us with ordering. We finished with a cheesecake which was the highlight of our meal. Our daughter was kicking and screaming the way home; eager to return. The Ballot Box is an absolute no brainer if you're looking for an easy day out at a place with staff that care, good food and a homely feel.

Fabulous place for family and value. The overall food quality is ok, some things not great, but the cost and value is unrivalled! Guest real ciders and ales. Hungry Horse menu. Wacky Warehouse soft play and beer garden with outdoor play for kids! Perfect for kids and cheap outing. Across the road is a large local kids playground too plus fields and forest surrounding. Rural setting, nice staff, such good value.

I've visited this place a couple of times. It has ample parking and the staff is friendly. You can order food via the App. Very convinient. The food is very good. They have promotions which gives you a good deal. I will definitely keep going to Ballot Box. Also had my child's birthday party at the Wacky warehouse. Was convinient and the kids enjoyed it.
