Popped in for a jumbo breakfast last Friday, with a mate of mine. There were a few in but we got a table next to the door. We left our mobility scooters outside as there wasn't an access for them. We got up the few steps with walking sticks and soon were ordering our food. The guy who owns it can't do enough for you. It was spotlessly clean and our food was soon on it's way to us piping hot. There was also a separate plate with our extras on. 2 black puddings each. It came on a steak plate and was brimming over. It was cooked to perfection, the toast was done perfect and it was presented perfectly. We had a lovely mug of tea to wash it down. I never had anything else to eat that day and nothing till dinner time on Friday. We will be in there next Friday to , and it looks like this will be a regular Friday thing , for both of us. I have had dinner in here before which was every bit enjoyable as his breakfast. It's positioned in Grimsby Town centre near the library. Make a note if you love home made cooking , and marks out of ten , it's a definite 10. Forgot to mention the main thing? The name of the restaurant is Tasty's. And it certainly is. Cyril Cole and mate Jeff.
Very nice staff and very clean we go to taste every week we have the jumbo breakfast and my children have the standard and we all love it don't have a bad word about the place.
Tastys is a good small old style traditional family friendly restaurant/takeaway and it's tucked away on New street in Grimsby town centre. I not sure when this place first opened but I can't recall it not being here, nothing has changed much over the years,it's still a good clean, well lit and brightly decorated place, it has it's own restrooms which are situated on the first floor. The food is traditional as well, a good selection of breakfasts, main meals which include home style pies, desserts and buns, the portion sizes are good here and the prices very reasonable given it's location. I think that it's the most reasonably priced restaurant in this area of town that offers this kind of food. The layout consists of a standard table and chairs layout, unfortunately it's unable to accommodate wheelchair users. It's cash only here. It also has a children's menu making it family friendly and it has friendly staff who provide the table service. There's some street parking in the side streets and the multi storey car park's in the town centre. It has a 5🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 food hygiene rating. Food review Jan 2019. I opted for a large roast beef dinner and a mug of tea. The size of the meal was generous in proportion with good selection of vegetables, the Yorkshire puds and some of the vegetables were of the frozen variety I think, the price of £6.55 was very reasonable for the meal, good value for money given the size of the meal. It is and always has been a nice cosy place to nip for a quick meal that won't break the bank. Update February 2020. There's been a few improvements made at Tasty's since my last visit. Firstly it's been redecorated, it's got a cleaner and brighter look and feel. 👍They have removed a couple of tables allowing easier access to the remaining tables,it was a little cramped before, the seating is all matching now.😊They have also reopened the first floor and access to a restroom. 👍 They had some soft background music playing which helped improve the atmosphere. Food review February 2020. There were noticable improvements to the food I received today compared to my previous visit, I opted for steak Pie today, a nicely presented plate of food arrived after a short while, comprising of a good slice of homemade style pie, this had a good crisp short pastry crust and a generous filling of tender good sized pieces of beef with a rich sauce, accompanied by some nice buttery mashed potatoes, fresh carrots and fresh savoy cabbage 👍, nothing sourced from frozen on my plate everything was fresh, which was a good improvement .👌 Price wise, still very reasonably here, I paid £5.25 for my meal and a further 80p for a mug of tea. I've upped my rating of this restaurant based on the improvements made to the fabric of restaurant and quality of the food. Update December 2021. Back open as usual, popped in for a lunchtime meal, I opted for a large cottage Pie with vegetables, an individually cooked pie arrived after a short wait accompanied by a generous portion of mashed potatoes, fresh carrots and Savoy cabbage,a nice traditional meal and plenty of it. I paid £7.75 for my meal which included a mug of tea. Food review November 2022.
