Two of us popped into Taj on a Sunday night and were warmly welcomed. The booth setup meant we had lots of space and attentive service.
We had a paneer tikka and lamb samosas to start with a delicious tamarind sauce on the side - highly recommend dipping your poppadoms in it!
For mains we had a lamb passanda and chicken zalmirchi (which was hot, but not so hot that you were left with tears running down your face). We both had a gorgeous naan bread and rice.
All the food was hot (temperature), fresh and full of flavour. Highly recommend this place!
Worth noting: you can’t add a tip at time of card payment, so take cash.

Visiting Guernsey for the first time when he happened upon this gem. So often in Indian restaurants we’ve been crammed in with other diners a few feet from us - but not here! Mostly booths or separate tables. The food was really good, I had the lamb shank and my wife had lamb korai - both were really cooked well. I tend to part judge Indian restaurants by how long they cook the lamb and therefore how tender it is - full marks to The Taj. And if that wasn’t enough, service was excellent - we had a particularly sassy young waitress serve us, she was teasing and joking along through the service. Highly recommend!

Very friendly waitress - gave good recommendations. Food was plentiful and well-flavoured. Lots of different dishes that don't appear on menus at home - I presume they were from other regions to those of our normal curry houses.
Thoroughly enjoyed it - you should too.
