Our family travelled from across the UK for my mother-in-laws surprise 80th birthday celebration. From the moment we arrived we were made to feel very welcomed and we were taken care of very well. The manager/owner took great care of all our requirements with great attention to detail. The food was fantastic, the portions were spot on, and the atmosphere was superb. This was the first time that any of us had visited 1885, and we have plans to visit again in September and November. I'm sure that the staff will give us more pleasurable memories and deliver a great experience.

We stayed at the venue and the staff were really professional. We had dinner there too and the food was lovely and once again the staff were really lovely. We got a couple of drinks after dinner and went to our room. We came down to get another drink at 9 to find the whole place was closed. Shame. We found this to be a theme in the Halifax area.

Went for Sunday roast and the food was fantastic 😋 the cauliflower cheese with truffle oil was magnificent 👌. Staff great and reasonably priced, overall a lovely experience. Richard

The food was amazing, staff really nice and helpful, and the room was really great. We only stayed one night but I think we'd like to stay here again if we visit Halifax.

Went for dinner with work colleagues. Food was superb! Everyone enjoyed their meals. I had the lasagne and it was so good!

A little expensive I'm not used to paying £34 for 2 portions of fish n chips but the meal was lovely an didn't eat again that day from lunch . Pretty views and idyllic setting.Staff were friendly and polite.

We have just got home from a wonderful 2 night stay and it couldn't have been better. Due to traffic and road closures we didn't arrive until after midnight and the general manager stayed on to allow us to check in, taking so much stress away! The rooms were beautiful with everything we needed and more. Breakfast was delicious with so much choice on the menu and fabulously friendly staff. We couldn't have wished for anything better.
