Excellent selection of pub food. Tasty home cooked food at very good prices. Good selection of lager and beers. Very friendly staff and owner. Lively atmosphere.

Pity about the tatty state of the beer garden though, which might put potential customers off, because otherwise it could be a first rate pub.
Spacious very nice historical photos depicting when trains ran past the pub. Had fish and chips. Chips where nice and hot. quality of potato's was substandard as well was the batter. Fish was a large piece quality of the fish was poor. Prices where very resionabe.
What a genuinely lovely little pub! We visited whilst on holiday near by. Covid cautious and masks worn, one way system and table service in place. The staff were very friendly and welcoming, treated everyone as though you were a local. Despite being a busy Saturday evening, the staff were attentive

We stopped here twice while in the area fishing and would highly recommend.
I’ve been here a couple times now and it has a lovely versatile menu and the service is always great. Highly recommend to come here if you’re passing through or nearby.
Looks slightly run down but don't be put off, the owner is chef and produces really good pub food wholesome very well cooked and presented in a pub atmosphere. Will go again when down in that part of the world.

Been here a few times on our week away. Booked for a meal tonight and was not disappointed, food was good and Katie the young lady behind the bar was very helpful and attentive. A great pub to go to, very welcoming and food is good! But make sure you book!
We arrived fairly late hoping for a Sunday roast and the young man at the bar kindly found us a table. Our lunch was very good, plenty of meat and vegetables and my chicken was delicious! We dined in this pub while staying nearby, and we wasn’t disappointed.. the food was absolutely delicious!! Really large portions..I had the half rack of ribs and my god they was absolutely delicious! And the owner made a point of talking to you and making you feel welcome.

Great food, great staff, highly recommend and will definitely be returning when we are back this way. A word of warning book your table, we were lucky being very early in the evening they fitted us in. Oh and the portions are generous you might struggle to get a sweet in.
Good honest Devon pub with a welcoming, caring, genuine service and great tasty proper food. The lamb shank was very, very tasty - not the normal fall-off-the-bone-overcooked offering, but a real proper cut of meat really tasting of lamb. The stake and ale pie was also very juicy and tasty, though
