Went out with the family (7 of us) for a meal and couldn't be happier with the evening.
The staff were attentive upon arrival and made us feel welcome for the entirety of our visit.
Service was second to none, we weren't kept waiting at all for either food or drinks - my wife was particularly pleased there was non-alcoholic gin on offer.
A special hat nod to the chefs, in the words of my father-in-law "the food was to die for" - I had the spicy burger which I strongly recommend to anyone!!
There were two 9 year olds with us who were kept entertained with the play area outside and then activity sheets to complete inside.
The atmosphere of the whole place was fantastic and it was great to see a local pub doing so well on a weekday.
Will definitely be returning very soon.
10/10
We met here for a family dinner. I chose the steak salad bowl it was divine! Massive portion. The pub is opposite Warner's Gin. It is child friendly with fish & chips plus sticky toffee pudding for £10. The kids loved it. There is an outdoor play area along with lots of outdoor seating. The pub is a family pub supporting local producers. A lovely find. The service was a little slow but it was a midweek meal and they were training new staff.
Friendly, attentive staff, good, tasty food, children warmly welcomed, and lots of colouring activities immediately brought out for them. Service was prompt and staff were always available but without being pushy or in the way.
We visited for my mum's birthday, which was mentioned on the online booking and staff were quick to wish her a happy birthday.
We had hanger steak and burgers, fish and chips on the kids menu, beer, cider and desserts. The hanger steak wasn't quite as good as I've had elsewhere, but equally, it wasn't bad. And the portions were a nice manageable size which makes a difference to wasteful huge portions.
Beautiful lunch followed by the best sticky toffee pud I've had in a long time. All staff were lovely.
It was also my partners birthday and as we were leaving gave us a card signed by them with a voucher, which was a lovely touch.
This was a lunchtime visit on a road trip to Stafford and we'll worth the stop. The staff were amazingly friendly, the food great and ample portions (we couldn't finish the onion rings that were the best we've ever had). Just lovely.
Great service, amazing location and building. Food was good but some complaints. Steak was good quality and well cooked but under seasoned and wild garlic butter had too faint a taste, almost tasted like regular unsalted butter with a slight grassiness. Definitely would have preferred some kind of regular or roasted garlic butter. Chips and onions rings were great but no regular coca cola only coke zero, bizarre.
This pub is a bit off the beaten track but well worth the effort. The food was good and they accommodate some allergies/intolerances, eg GF and my meal was adapted for dairy free. It's reasonably priced and the service was very good.
It is disabled friendly but may be worth checking with them, dependent on the disability. We had no problem with a rollator, so I would imagine a wheelchair would be fine.
The lavatories are clean and there is a disabled facility.
Would definitely recommend a visit, if in the area.

Absolutely fantastic establishment. A very warm welcome, helpful, polite and attentive staff. Food was excellent. Simply cannot fault anything. We will definitely be back very soon.
Idyllic country pub. Son has just moved to Northampton so we travelled down to see him from Yorkshire, he looked online and found this beauty. We visited on a sunny day and wish we'd arrived earlier to have drinks outside because the views were amazing. The food and service were great. I had pie which was delicious although didn't come with much so be sure to order potatoes or chips. My husband and son had rump and hanger steak. My husband said the steak was a little tough but on the whole enjoyed it and was cooked perfectly. My son said his hanger steak was beautiful. Ordered extra onion ring and these were superb!! Find it a little weird they only do Coke Zero especially given that not everyone likes artificial sweeteners. All in all though a lovely day and meal celebrating my sons birthday
