My wife and I had an amazing evening at Jespers on Saturday. From the moment we arrived, we were made to feel very welcome by all the staff, including Jesper himself. We were offered a drink in the bar on arrival so immediately felt relaxed, unlike some other places where you’re told they need the table back at 8, before anyone has even said hello! When we were ready, we were shown to our table upstairs. I ordered the haddock scotch egg to start and the ox cheek for main. It was incredible!! And the wine pairing was superb. My wife had the mushroom baklava and the Thai style pork belly, which were also both excellent. (Sorry, I didn’t take photos). We finished off our evening in the bar, where we had a couple of drinks and soaked up the great atmosphere. All in all a fantastic evening and definitely our new favourite place to eat. The sommelier's recommendations paired beautifully with our meal and enhanced the overall dining experience. In conclusion, Jespers is a place that deserves every star. The range of amazing cocktails, devised by people clearly passionate about their work, are spectacular. The food served in the small upstairs dining room matches the quality of drinks downstairs. A small regularly changing menu means they make sure every dish is a taste sensation. I really can't recommend this place enough.
