Sea Rock

I remember this chippy from back in the seventies, there was always a queue around the shop and out the door. When those owners sold up the chippy went downhill fast and stayed at the bottom for years until now. Everything is freshly cooked, even the 'on menu' items. Everything from burgers in batter, sausages, and especially the fish is absolutely delicious and done to perfection. The fish was so big I was checking it for the harpoon! The cod came apart in lovely big flakes and the batter was superb. The chips are perfect for me and is one of the many reasons I use this great little chippy. Service is especially friendly and very accommodating. If you have a special order they'll do everything they can to make it. This owner has turned this place around and is now my favorite chippy. The staff although young are very professional yet very friendly; they always have time for a chat and a chuckle; a refreshing change from the usual sullen laconic answers one usually gets from other members of their age group. I've used this chippy every week for a while now and I've always received great service and absolutely perfect, delicious food. I would highly recommend you try the chicken kebab with their new ranch sauce if you fancy a change from seafood; its really good. I'm serious! When you have a chippy doing fantastic fish and chips AND doing kebabs better than the kebab shop then you know you're onto something special. A quick message to the owner: thank you for consistently preparing excellent food, if you keep this up pretty soon the word will get out and customer numbers will become like it was in the seventies. Whatever you do, don't change a thing!

The decor is clean and modern. There was great music playing so didn’t mind the wait. We got a large chips and battered sausage, which tasted absolutely great as they cooked fresh. Service was friendly and efficient. They have a lot of options on the menu which isn’t strictly fish related such as ham and chicken burgers to name a few. I think this will be my go to chippy.

OMG!! We ordered (via Deliveroo) 3 x cod plus 2 x medium chips. The food arrived nice and hot, and it was the best fish & chips we have ever tasted, cooked to perfection. If Sea Rock continue to cook their food like this, they will blow away all the competition. Sometimes we get lamb doner meat which is also perfectly cooked. We cannot rate Sea Rock highly enough. Well done to all the team for all round excellence. 👍 Didn't have time to take a photo 'cos we were too busy yamming it up. 🙂

The fish here is the best. It's always cooked only when ordered and tastes really fresh and hot! They do so much more, including scampi, burgers etc. Not too keen on their nuggets and their closing times are quite early but my partner and i order quite often. It is possible to eat in standing up by their small table but it's designed to come in and take away, although they will also deliver. Certainly a great change from cooking at home....if you can afford it......as eating 'out' these days is never cheap.
