We visited for an evening meal on a Monday evening. The generous helping of food served was delicious, good selection of drinks and all reasonably priced. The pub was more of a dining experience rather than just for a drink and therefore lacked a traditional pub atmosphere. The staff were welcoming, friendly and provided great service.

Called in here without having booked with my sisters at lunch time. Pleasant staff, who showed us to a table immediately. Had wonderful selection of jacket potatoes - just what we wanted, served with a generous salad. Looked through their menu and thought it had a good selection of different dishes, all reasonably priced.

Amazing food and service, I had the rump steak cooked medium rare for main and the banoffee pie for pudding. I will definitely be back.

The food was excellent as usual.David is a really lovely guy.Unfortunately there were 2 staff members who were actually abrupt when serving us and had a very poor attitude also seeing a waitress in gym shorts wasn't very appropriate for serving in a restaurant.I would always go back to the Thatch because of david and his family they are just so lovely.

Outstanding! proper pub grub!!! Gave it a go, the rump steak was excellent! Friendly staff, nice views of the downs- all round had a great evening

Food was ok, have had better meals here was very salty, pudding was very yummy. Service was VERY slow and staff were a bit grumpy and looked scruffy in over sized clothes.

Welcoming, clean and spacious public house with additional restaurant set aside from the main bar area. Pleasant and enjoyable visit, made even more enjoyable by the members of staff who displayed a caring nature and provided excellent service, always with a smile.
