Another delicious Jack in the Green day breakfast - we had Scrambled Egg on a muffin - the egg is deliciously creamy and the reason we came back from last year and also had the bacon sandwich where the bacon is good quality and cooked to the right level of crispiness :-) Staff were all rushing around on a busy day but still friendly and getting the orders correct. Will definitely come again - no photos this time but I left a review last year on Trip Advisor when we didn't eat quite as quick if you want to see ;-)

Have been here a few times and should have written a review ages ago! It's just lovely. Friendly, helpful staff, warm atmosphere, food always very fresh, well presented and as my mum would say "cooked with love" Was here again this afternoon with my veggie friend and as I'm taking part in "Veganuary" needed a vegan lunch-several options but both went for the most delicious falafels, humus and salad-perfect-Highly Recommend!

Throughly charming cafe in Old Town. Friendly staff, wonderful coffee, and lovely food served promptly with a smile. We would definitely return.

Lovely café serving lunch and fab looking cakes in the heart of Hastings Old Town. Excellent sandwiches and toasties. Waitress offered to toast the bread rather than the whole sandwich when I ordered the hummus, carrot and pepper sandwich, which turned out to be a perfect combo. Came with a small tasty salad on the side. My husband had the Brie & Chorizo sandwich and my friend the Cheddar & Chutney (she’d sampled the chutney here before and wanted it again). Bread was very fresh and all were great sandwich combos. Gluten free bread is also available if needed. They also do a Soup of the Day and Dhal of the Day which looked good (we saw on the next table). Lunch is served between 12-4pm. There was a good selection of cakes on show to choose from by the counter (choice of cakes that day on my photos). Between us we had the Banana Loaf, Lemon Meringue cake and Lemon vegan cake. The table next to us were praising their Carrot and Walnut cakes. Cakes are all home-made on the premises with generous slices. Café was clean, as were toilets. The service was efficient and staff very friendly. It was busy when we visited mid-week which is a good sign as there are a number of independent cafes alongside it. Lovely to find an independent café serving such lovely lunchtime food. Highly recommend.

Lovely lunch. Reasonable prices on the menu .Great for watching the old town go by. It's popular with local people so you know that it's a good place to go . They cater to vegetarian and vegan tastes so there is something for everyone . Even beans on toast for the little ones . If you want to try and keep that of their shirts lol

Difficult to choose a place to eat in Hastings when you are just visiting, nothing worse than a disappointing lunch experience. Today we had quite the opposite. This restaurant has pleasant tasteful decor inside, the crockery likewise carefully chosen. We both had soups and we both really enjoyed it with good quality bread and a generous amount of butter. Warm and welcoming vibe. We will be returning. Thank you

Great little local spot for breakfast. Flexible with their menu and have gluten free bread. Amazing cakes!! Only downside was the latte. But friendly staff and dogs allowed inside and out :)

Very happy to have stumbled across this little gem today. We were desperate for some indoor seating to get the kids out of the heat and take a break with a nice drink. The layout was well designed and inviting, there was hand sanitizer readily available as we walked in and at our table. The staff member was very polite and welcoming. We didn't purchase any food, however, the display of cakes and pastries was incredibly tempting! There was a menu of cooked items to order, I would describe the prices as moderate but couldn't comment on value for quality/quantity as we didn't see anyone else order food. We were served quickly, I ordered a latte, not too hot, which was served at a perfect temperature. My only critique would be that the kids drink options were limited, maybe they're not the targeted audience for this cafe. But kids will never finish a drink, so paying £2.50 for an Orange Juice isn't the greatest option. That being said, there was good availability of drinks for adults. I was able to pay via debit card, contactless which was very useful. Overall, we were really happy with the experience and will definitely return on future visits to the old town.

Must have passed this place so many times and never been in until today.. l desperately needed coffee after my bike ride over from bexhill, l'm really fussy when it comes to coffee but their double expresso really hit the spot, strong but smooth and well rounded. Waitress/owner was very welcoming and talked me through the cake menu and l went for the guiness cake which was flippin amazing and the cheesecake cream icing complimented it perfectly. We spoke about the menu and decided l'll be back for lunch soon to try out their 'Sussex Smokie'.. an absolute jem of a place

Nice little coffee shop on a busy competitive George Street. The service was good, although it did take a while for the bill to arrive (in the end I walked to the till myself). It’s slightly odd that the food menu is listed near the door so if you’re sitting outside you have to get up and have a look. The staff were friendly though and enjoyed the food which was great quality. The picture is a shot of the street from my seating spot.

Lovely dahl. And my friend said it was the best cheese sandwich ever - and he's certainly tried many!
