This pub is absolutely fabulous, quietly located in the All Saints, it is the oldest pub in Hastings dating to c. 1547 with a well preserved building. The staff here is very friendly, it is chill and peaceful here, the garden is like a hidden treasure. Don’t miss the cat mummies, they are related to an interesting history of witches and rat controls in the town back in the 17th century.
Really tasty dishes, beautiful composition, fair prices for fair portions. Amazing service too, great taste of music in background. Great quiet and vintage location
Excellent pub with unbelievable quality food. A variety of menu options that are very high quality and taste superb. I ahve eaten here a few times and the food is great. Very good service and the team are very helpful and friendly. Real traditional pub and large open beer garden. Lots of delicious desserts too!
I go here for the folk music nights on Tuesdays, love them❤️ Real ale is now £5.0 and Guinness £5.50.
Really nice pub in Hastings. Saw a great band there some time ago, the Lost Revellers. Really good atmosphere, nice beers, nice steeped garden if you're lucky enough to go on a sunny day, and friendly welcoming staff. Haven't tried the food. I'll definitely return.
Simply my favourite pub on earth. The atmosphere transports you back in time.. amazing food amazing staff and as for the music...it's the folk music heart of the south east. A unique sea of tranquility and happiness mixing the past and present..

This place is exquisite from walking through the door, being greeted by a wonderful team to leaving was an amazing experience.
'Sorry chef has been kidnapped!'
Wow this man is not only a happy man and fun to chat to, he is absolutely incredible, the food is outstandingly fantastic. This chef will achieve a Michelin in the not so distant future.
We had the most fun in the most beautiful Pub in Hastings and surrounding area. A perfect night in a Pub steeped in History.
A total joy. I almost wish I haven't shared this jewel because for sure you will go and I won't get a table. But you have to go and explore, experience, enjoy. Oh and remember to step out into the terraced garden while you are there.
This is by far the best pub ever.
Please feel free to prove me wrong, I very much doubt it!
*Booking very highly recommended*
An interesting menu. The complimentary Guinness and treacle bread with garam masala butter was so delicious - the crispy lamb ribs starter also but very spicy. Our mains were less interesting but still nice.
The 80s music was too loud and detracted from the food. I would go back to try the taster menu on a Thursday.
Went to the Stag Inn for a celebration Sunday lunch to celebrate mine and a friends birthday, over the Coronation Bank Holiday weekend.
What a wonderful experience we had at the Stag Inn. The warm welcome myself and my party received was amazing. The staff couldn't do enough for us. They gave us a wonderful table and decorated the table with birthday banners. Which was a lovely touch.
The food was excellent as was the service. Nick and Nicole were wonderful host's and their staff were very helpful.
If you are in the Hastings area I would throughly recommend a visit to this brilliant pub. I cannot wait to go back
Thanks again to all at The Stag !!
A wonderful, proper pub. We discovered this gem whilst exploring Hastings Old Town on a weekend visit with friends. There was a genuine warm welcome from the landlady and all of her staff who couldn’t have been friendlier. The choice of beer was good, the food excellent and there’s a great little room for bar billiards. Our hostess even offered us a Bluetooth speaker in case we wanted to play our own music while we had a game. It was a real pleasure to visit.
Thank you.
