Absolutely the epitome of a traditional chippy, if you want authentic fish and chips, you have to try it out! The Old Town of Hastings has a reputation for having a plethora of nice fish and chip restaurants and takeaways, but they are all a lot more expensive. This place is simple, with little seating, no toilet facilities and no alcohol license, but it is excellent quality and cheap as chips!

Just had some fish n chips and they were lovely and hot. Why 4 stars? Paid £7.50 which didn't feature as a price anywhere on the price board? Better transparency = happier customer.

After a long day with various disasters, all my kids wanted was a fish and chip dinner and Smiffy's delivered. Piping hot and very reasonably priced. It's a bare bones chippy but it does what it says on the tin.

Came down from london and fancied some good old fashion fish and chips.
Strolled past it while in search for one and went in. Service was amazing, so friendly and welcoming. The food was cooked fresh In front of us and so tasty and fresh. Would highly recommend.

The fish was freshly fried when my friends and I arrived. The portion for cod was quite large for £5.50 each. All of us had to pack half of it home. The owner was very friendly and welcoming.

2 vegetable spring rolls, large chips and a curry sauce. Honestly the service is excellent, a real gem of guy who makes the effort to get to know his customers. Best in Hastings A+
