Absolutely the epitome of a traditional chippy, if you want authentic fish and chips, you have to try it out! The Old Town of Hastings has a reputation for having a plethora of nice fish and chip restaurants and takeaways, but they are all a lot more expensive. This place is simple, with little seating, no toilet facilities and no alcohol license, but it is excellent quality and cheap as chips!
Excellent fish and chips. We really enjoyed our huss (rock) and the batter was very fluffy. All was cooked to order.
Just had some fish n chips and they were lovely and hot. Why 4 stars? Paid £7.50 which didn't feature as a price anywhere on the price board? Better transparency = happier customer.

The best fish and chips I've ever had, ever.
Chips cooked perfectly, nice and crispy yet fluffy in the middle, nice fish too and lovely batter. I had the medium cod and it was enough. The owner is super friendly and I seen him let a few people off with the odd 10p to help change situations etc whilst waiting for ours.
Fresh and tasty food. Good price. Large portion fish 🐠 and chips 🍟 . Large cod and large chips we shared with my husband and son and we were full. StromglRecommending 😀
Came down from london and fancied some good old fashion fish and chips.
Strolled past it while in search for one and went in. Service was amazing, so friendly and welcoming. The food was cooked fresh In front of us and so tasty and fresh. Would highly recommend.

The fish was freshly fried when my friends and I arrived. The portion for cod was quite large for £5.50 each. All of us had to pack half of it home. The owner was very friendly and welcoming.
Stopped for a light lunch at Smiffys chippy in Hastings, sat outside in the sun and really enjoyed our food! I had the special off mini fish and chips and my friend had scampi and chips.
All was freshly cooked and the chips were light and fluffy...wonderful!
OMG these were just the best cod and chips I've had in years; no skin on the fish, light batter, crispy chips but fluffy inside! Heaven. And the guy behind the counter was just the friendliest person ever (even at 10:30pm with a lot of crazy drunk people). If you're in Hastings you have to go here!
After a long day with various disasters, all my kids wanted was a fish and chip dinner and Smiffy's delivered. Piping hot and very reasonably priced. It's a bare bones chippy but it does what it says on the tin.
