Jiang's Restaurant

5 stars for this small town Chinese restaurant. Sometimes Chinese restaurants in small towns can be questionable, but this place was on point. I had the Szechuan beef, and the BBQ pork with vegetables. Great taste and lots of flavour. Fresh ingredients. Big portions. Great value. The owner lady was very friendly as well. If you like a little heat, go for the Szechuan. Great Chinese food even in a small town. Gotta love it!

First time coming here today and I had to write a review, I don't normally. It's my husbands birthday so I offered to grab food, he wanted Chinese but I didn't want to drive to port hope. I noticed Hastings of all places had one with good reviews, so I had to try it out. We ordered * fried dumplings ( they were really good) *Chicken fried rice ( really tasty) *Sesame chicken ( not your normal gooey sugary dish. It was light and had ginger in it which made it fresh tasting. The ginger was super subtle but it made the dish. It wasn't super coated in sauce either. I'm a fan) *Sweet and sour chicken balls ( the balls were good. A nice amount of meat to dough ratio. The sauce was good. Again, it wasn't the sugary gooey sauce you normally find. This was a tad thinner and perhaps a touch sour. I found it refreshing. It didn't taste like I was eating candy) *Chicken soo guy ( hands down the best we've collectively ever had. We lived in Calgary, Toronto and the states. The chicken itself was nicely done but the sauce was amazing. The gravy was thick and delicious, we used almost all of it.) * Chicken lo Mein ( it was super tasty too) * Chicken wonton soup ( the wontons were good and so was the base broth.) I 10/10 highly recommend this little gem. This is our go to Chinese place from now on . I can't wait to try more dishes. I'm going to bet their fish and chips are great too. The staff was super friendly as well.

We were very impressed with our food to start with. Second, when we picked up the food the fella at the window made sure having shrimp was safe for us as shrimp was in the spring rolls, which is impressive. Also, when giving me the food he made a point to say "please wash out the recyclables so they can be recycled easier. Very impressed, and it made me smile. Good job folks!! you have our business.
