Fox Hole

Just had a one night stay at Fox House, my Birthday Treat,.... My husband and myself really enjoy our stay, the place ie warming and very friendly, the staff are by far are some of the best I have come across, helpful polite and friendly, big shout out to Gracie, what a lovely young woman, one negative..... I didn't think the food justified the price, my husband had Ribeye steak, it just came with chips, 4 cherry tomatoes and a sauce, which my husband said was very nice, the steak was OK,... I had fish and chips, I have had better in cheaper places, BUT, the breakfast was quite simply the best, what a breakfast!!!. I would definitely recommend Fox House, don't let my view on the breakfast put you off, it was just my opinion, thank you for a lovely stay, Barbara Jolliffe,

Stopped in got dinner. Tried to book a table on app. Nothing but trouble so I call direct. I was told the only table available was 8pm. When we got there we were a little early, but had no where to sit. After tell one of the staff we were going to go, a table became free. Great 👍. Food was ok unfortunately nothing special. I was told I was going to be amazing maybe my expectations were a little high.

Lovely venue, good Sunday lunch. Just needs slightly better wi-fi (as discount voucher couldn't be used because it failed to download) and a slightly quicker drinks service...yes it was very busy and as a positive the food came out really quickly but the drinks took longer than expected and then they were one short. Would still recommend it though.. just noting my experience.

The staff at the Fox are exceptional, friendly and pleasant. The room was large but, the bed a little too firm for our liking. Everywhere was lovely we really enjoyed it. The breakfast was good and we ate in the restaurant 1 night which was also good. The location is great just on the out skirt of beautiful Hathersage. We would definitely stay again . My family of 4 stayed here for a few nights. Stunning location , located in an excellent position to explore surrounding areas . We opted for a family room which was spacious and had a king size bed and double sofa bed. The rooms were well decorated and cleaned daily. Lovely views from our room. We had breakfast daily which is served between 8 and 10 . There was plenty of choice and very generous portions . You didn't feel rushed and staff were very obliging. We also ate one evening meal here which again we couldn't fault .. The Sunday roasts are lovely ! We explored the nearby longshaw estate which has several walks depending on your ability and time. We took a 2 hour walk that took us past some lovely streams where you could picnic .. beautiful. There is a car park at the hotel .. which did get very busy on Sunday but then loads of space in the week . Great stay and location ..

Lovely old building beautifuly conserved. High quality service, great food, friendly atmosphere. Didn't stay overnight, so don't know about the rooms but judging by the rest they should be great. Beautifully surrounded by nature, hills, moors with lot of trails to walk around. Would definitely recommend to anyone.

Came here to have dinner with my sister-in-law and partner, and had a great time here. Prices are a bit steep compared to my usual haunts, but the place was definitely above and beyond where I usually go. Parking is a bit rough, and the access could be better, but overall, definitely a place that caters to the public...
