Beautiful location. Lovely drinks on taps, good service but the food is really mediocre. The most exciting fact is that you can arrive in the early evening with no tide (sea) at the doorstep and leave at the end of the night with the sea lapping at the door. Visited Sep 2022 and Sep 2023.
Lovely food but very slow service, feel like staff doesn't know what to do or lack of communication.
What a great pub! Food was amazing, lively but not super loud atmosphere, friendly staff and a nice setting. Parking isn't easy but you can park by the other pub and walk down (about 2 minutes). You can't always get down there because of the tide so the other way is a fair bit longer but not undoable.
This pub has got lashings of character, and is located in a quaint corner by the coast of Langston. Around the corner from The Ship Inn, we dropped by walking along the pathway (in low tide, thankfully) and found this cute pub, albeit not a freehouse, with plenty of gin and fresh squid. Very pleased
Spent a very enjoyable time meeting up with past work colleagues for lunch Which stretched into the afternoon. In this tradition waterside pub. The food was Tasty, well cooked and presented, with a good variety of choice for a pub. And an additional festive menu. The service was excellent being friendly and attentive without being overbearing. From my own point of view the beer was well kept. The friendly landlord and landlady told us that they’ve only had the pub since March and Are rightly proud of their endeavours. Highly recommended and we are looking forward to returning.
Great little pub with loads of character. Large selection of food you can enjoy outside in the canopies garden ( ideal this hot weather) or inside the cool interior). Not hungry? Then just on the edge of the key watching the water world flow by. Just relax and enjoy
We thought our sat navigation had sent us wrong (again) and nearly turned around and left but we spotted the Royal Oak around the corner, facing the sea. Parking can be difficult as it doesn't have a car park and there's double yellows part way up the street.
Inside its warm, cosy and welcoming.
We were shown to a table and our little border terrier was fussed.
We ordered starters of soup of the day (spiced pumpkin) and I chose the bao bun. Both were freshly made very tasty.
Main courses were a Cumberland ring on the specials menu and a lanb shank.
Both were lovely, good portion size, freshly made and well presented.
Staff were very friendly and efficient.
We're really pleased we found the Royal Oak and will definately return.
One of the best locations I have visited. Very good food and very good prices. And is right next to the sea (when is tide). Spechless and very impressed. A place to visit by all means. One minus for the lack of parking space but you can park near a pub next to bridge and walk your way along the shore which compensates the minus. The view is astonishing. 100% recommended to try it.

Nice pub, no loud music, no games, no tv, just great atmosphere and views over the bay. The sea comes up almost to the front door at high tide. Friendly staff, good menu with good sized portions served quickly. Frequented by local dog walkers with their dogs. You can walk round the coast path from here.
An impromptu visit to the Royal Oak, we ordered coffee and cake. We were delighted with what we ordered. It was very well presented, and both were delicious. I didn't realise that the Royal Oak had a lovely garden either. We'll be back for more.
