The White Hart Inn, Hawes

Had a lovely Sunday lunch. Great pub. Literally the only thing I don't like is the non-restaurant end used to be cosy and traditional. It's now had a very chain pub style makeover and some really poor furniture choices with a load of bar stools and tall tables facing the wall. If I want to stare at a wall I'll stay at home.

We enjoyed a delightful meal here after a long day of walking, grateful for the cosy pub atmosphere and friendly, attentive staff. We were greeted and served throughout our meal with warmth and humour and the food here was truly exceptional. I enjoyed the lamb, which was beautifully cooked to melt-in-the-mouth perfection, with the most gorgeous jus to accompany it (trust me - I could have drunk this on its own and been very happy haha). Every element on every plate at the table was thoroughly enjoyed, with plates practically licked clean by the end! My dairy-free sister was grateful for the selection of plant-based options, especially the desserts (the lemon posset was incredible!!) Would wholeheartedly recommend the White Hart to anyone staying in the area for a fabulous meal and some lovely walks to pair with a visit here too! Thank you.
