Fantastic venue for food. Staff all very helpful and polite. Food was fantastic, couldn't fault what we had at all. Service was very fast, though it was quiet when we went (a Monday lunch time). Would love to visit again on pizza night, as they have an open area for the chefs to prep and cook them in the pizza oven. Sufficient parking at both the front and rear of the restaurant.

Had a great evening meal at The Great House. Food was delicious and service was exceptional. Shout out to Fraser, he is a credit to the pub.
One of our party said it was one the nicest steaks she’d had. Will be returning for sure.

Came here two years ago and remembered having a great meal so thought we'd give it another go. Me and my partner had the wood pigeon and pretzel to start and two roast platters (beef & lamb) for our mains. Everything was outstanding - the meat melted in your mouth. My partner runs a pub that does Sunday roasts too but says he is struggling to think of better roast meat than what we had today!
Our server, Fraser, needs a shout out aswell. He was really friendly and professional. 🌸

Really great experience for my husband's birthday lunch. Friendly and professional service. The best food and menu selection we've ever experienced at a pub and such a beautiful place too. It was a bit more expensive than we would normally spend but we were happy considering the quality and occasion. We hadn't been here before but so glad we did, we'll be back when we have another special occasion to celebrate. Thank you!

Driving back from quick job in Maidstone wanted to take scenic route back home to Newhaven. Came across this pub on the main road and pulled in for a late lunch in very nice surroundings. Place not busy so had no problems in getting a table. My wife and I shared a starter of prawns and both had lamb rump with mash. It was lovely. Very good table service from the staff and we enjoyed the whole experience. Not cheap but you get what you pay for. Fully fueled up and satisfied we continued home. Lovely.

As British gastro pubs go, this is one of the best. I write this review on my second visit, which was as good as the first. Impeccable service. Delicious food. Generous portions. Convivial and friendly atmosphere. This is about as good as it gets when other portion sizes restaurants are cutting corners to counteract inflation, reducing portion sizes and stuffing you up with bread at the start of the meal. Vegetables were cooked to perfection (important to me as a vegetarian). You know the dessert is good when the chef hasn’t just compensated by adding masses of sugar. Fully merits the five stars given.

We had a very pleasant meal at The Great House, this a modern pub with a welcoming atmosphere. Loved our Sunday roast, it was very tasty. The service was quick and efficient. The staff was very attentive as well.

We have just eaten here for the first time. Food was amazing, and the service was brilliant. Staff were attentive and couldn't do enough for us. Highly recommend this jewel of a restaurant and cannot wait to eat here again.

Four of us had lunch. We had requested as quiet a table as possible and the restaurant did their best to accommodate us
The food was well cooked and very tasty. Prices were fair
Finally we had excellent service from Gabriella and Fraser who were both friendly and professional
