Superb stay even though weather was against us. Lovely little village staff were great and attentive. Evening meal was lovely & tasty. Breakfast which was included was nice and hot, but the only slight negative was that the bacon had the white stuff on it which I hate, and the sausage was anemic which could have been cooked longer to put some colour on it. I would definitely stay here again and have no hesitation in recommending it....👍

Amazing hotel. We were in a building across from the pub. So peaceful. Only a small room but adequate. Vika was very warm and welcoming. The food is fantastic. We had our breakfast and evening meal here. 5 min walk to the main car park, which you can get a permit for free parking if you book direct through the hotel. The location is great.. so much to see and do in the area. Highly recommended.

Our visit was last minute in fact we booked the room from the car park in Hawkshead having only just decided to stay overnight. Booking direct over the phone was easy & we were given a car parking permit which saved us having to pay for a 24 hour car parking stay. We were most impressed with everything about the Queen's Head. All the staff were very friendly & efficient & although we'd requested the cheapest room we couldn't have been more satisfied with it. Everything was clean with a lovely shower & fluffy, white towels & tea/coffee making facilities & some lovely biscuits! Another thing which helped our stay was a leaflet with four circular walks from/to the pub. We did two of the walks during our stay & they were both lovely & very well planned. On our return the room was very welcoming & the evening meal was delicious in a very good pub atmosphere & friendly staff. We woke next morning to sunshine again & had the most delicious breakfast to set us up for another great walk. To be honest we have no complaints whatsoever & would not hesitate in recommending the Queen's Head if you're in Hawkshead which is also a lovely village to visit.

Comfortable hotel with great bar and very good restaurant in the picturesque village of Hawkshead. The refurbished room was really good with a good-sized en suite bathroom. Pie night on Thursdays is not to be missed. Great selection of local, national and international beers. Great, friendly atmosphere

Lovely warm friendly Inn with great staff. The bedroom was a delight with lot's of space and very clean. The bathroom was larger than normal with lot's of hot water. Amazing comfortable bed and we slept so well. The food was exceptional both breakfast and evening meals. The evening meals were a delight and of very high quality and good value.

We have just returned from an amazing weekend at The Queens Head. The staff were wonderful, they accommodated a last miniute change of plan for us which meant we were still able to come on this trip. The children were given hot chocolates at breakfast, the food was amazing. They even set out a breakfast at our table for the elf we brought with us. The children were so excited when they came down to this and haven't stopped talking about this. One of the ladies there went home to lend me here phone charger as our car was snowed in. Nothing was too much trouble, all genuinely good people. On the last day, we asked to borrow a shovel and they came and helped us dig out the car. Our children were not originally supposed to join us but I think they will be insisting on returning next year! Thank you so much to all the team, you were amazing 💙 ❤️ xx

Absolutely fantastic place. I’m rather late leaving this review as I thought I’d left one when we stayed in February 😂 But I’m leaving it now. My partner and I came here for our first getaway together. The staff were incredibly welcoming without being “too” customer focussed that it comes over as false. They were chatty, friendly, and had good banter and we both felt at ease, relaxed and chilled staying here. The room was nicely furnished and a decent size. What I was over the moon about was the food - great quality at dinner and at breakfast! Good portions sizes for a fab price. The beers weren’t badly priced either, which is always brilliant 😂 10/10 would recommend, 10/10 would stay again.
