Excellent hidden gem of the Headingley and Hyde park area. There's a real lack of decent chippys around this area unless you like pizzas, fried chicken and kitchen sink type takeaways. I'm pleased to report that the fish n chips served up here are absolutely spot on and very reasonably priced. The fish are fried fresh to order so allow a little waiting time but it's definitely worth it. I bought one regular fish n chips, a battered sausage, 2 fish bites (for my cat đș) and a regular mushy peas. The batter was crisp and golden and not too thick, the fish was white and cooked perfectly and was lovely and flaky. The sausage was a sausage the same as I've had at other chippy places. It cost a very reasonable ÂŁ11.60.
My feline housemate would Ike to make it known that she rates the lightly battered fish bites as 10 out of 10 for freshness, taste and presentation. St Michaels fisheries is a Meg approved taste tested establishment đžđ

I think that was probably the best fish and chips Iâve ever had. Fish tasted great, chips were great and the food wasnât greasy which for a chippy is impressive. Appreciated the jay z but you reminded me of my dad.

A lovely local place- always try to get fish and chips here at least once a month, if not more. Staff are always so nice and great at handling rushes. The food is genuinely some of the best fish and chips I've ever had- the chips especially are great, highly recommend. Atmosphere feels really laid back and integrated into the community. If you're in the area and want fish and chips, this is the place to go!

The quality and service here is truly immaculate. The staff are so lovely and kind and really bring a smile to your face. The portions are very generous too! It is a true gem of Headingley. So if youâre in the mood for a cheeky chippy this is the place to be!
