A friendly cafe with seating indoors and out and a restored waterwheel. Which is a first for me, but fascinated everyone who came to have a look. It makes the cafe very unique, with lots of information on the history of Hebden Bridge all over the walls.
There is a gift shop attached, which sells various locally produced products at different price points. Was fascinated by the old camera lamps which I loved.
They did sandwiches, jacket potatoes, soup, cakes and drinks with a gluten free option on the cakes. I decided to go for the courgette and lime cake with a tea, which looked amazing. The cake was really nice and filling and tasted lovely of lime. Had a pot of tea and was also given a pot of water, so got several cups out of it. The drinks and cakes were very reasonably priced and you could tell that my cake was homemade.
Really great visit today, weather awesome so able to sit outside. Coffee very good, cakes really outstanding, perfect mid-ride boost. Weather meant the centre of Hebden Bridge was like the South of France - everyone enjoying themselves outside making for a special atmosphere. Highly recommended!
When visiting Hebden Bridge be sure to visit the Innovation cafe accessed through the gift shop. There you will find a working water wheel and we had our lunch sitting on top of an Archimedes Screw using the power of the small river to generate electricity.
