1st time at The Fat Landlord a very warm welcome enjoyed the Wednesday Roast
Perfect place for my boys 18th birthday lunch. The staff were lovely and really helpful.
Had a very good Sunday lunch here last week. Booked it late (and you will need to book for Sundays), so was in at 12 as they opened. While it's a carvery on a Sunday they do sensibly time arrivals and the service, so there's no waiting. On offer was beef, turkey, and gammon, along with yorkshire puddings, roasting and an array of vegetables. All were delicious, and I could barely move after a large plateful. Staff were lovely, so overall it was great experience, and we'll definitely be back.
Had the roast lunch with the fam. Delicious roast, really friendly service, great beer and wonderful atmosphere. This is a classic English village pub as we all want them to be, and they were hosting an Alzheimer's support event too which had a really strong community feel to it. We had a wonderful time. Will definitely be returning.
Nice carvery on a Sunday. The carvery chef gets you from the table when it's your turn to get your carvery and serves up a dream. Recommend and it's so cheap!!!
Good carvery. Plenty of it..
Nothing too much trouble..
Visited for the first time today for the Sunday carvery. The food was absolutely incredible! Will definitely be back again. Top quality food! 👌👌
Nice cosy pub. Food good and cheap but the veg was overcooked in my opinion i like mine al dente. Nice chatty landlord. Would definitely go again.
What a lovely pub. Wonderful friendly and attentive staff - nothing was too much trouble. Sunday lunch was fab with very generous portions. The veg was so tasty and I'm sure only picked that day. My beef was somewhat well-done hence four stars - I prefer mine to be pink. Small niggle as I will be back many times!
A bit of an impromptu booking tonight and so glad we spotted this gem, can’t recommend it enough.
Able to park right outside, easy to find and a warm welcome on this Tuesday evening.
There is a cracking menu selection and I went for the chef’s humour aka spiced chicken, wow, there is some attitude in this plate in a really really nice way. I def enjoyed the salad that came with it.
For mains, I had the gammon & eggs, or should I say THICK cut gammon, the eggs were perfect, great chips and buckets of peas. Loved it. Meanwhile Anne had the fish pie and really enjoyed that, just about having space left for a chocolate dessert.
A great find and it’s nice that there is so much more on the menu we both fancy trying, making it a really good reason to return.
Thanks, we really enjoyed this evenings meal.
