Been into Bentleys on numerous occasions for breakfast and have always left full and happy. On our first visit I'd had the full full English breakfast and had a job finishing it.! Absolutely delicious.Staff are all very helpful and always serve you with a smile on their face. Spotlessly clean and the meat eggs etc come from the butchers next door so it's all top quality. It's busy at lunch times. Highly recommended five star rating and can't wait until it opens again. Ps It must be good as people from Harpenden and St Albans regularly visit it !! Slightly overpriced (as all cafes are, but a good place to stop for a coffee, cake or breakfast. We had a croissant which looked great, but wasn't that delicious. Saw a couple order breakfast and it looked delicious. Toilet facilities at this place, despite the size.

One of my fav spots to have brunch - from St Albans and worth the 15 min drive on a regular basis! Lovely atmosphere , good service and great food!

Stopped in for breakfast on a drive up the M1. Friendly, quick service and tasty food. All good. Convenient from the motorway if you're looking for an alternative to a service area.

The volume of produce for sale has dropped in recent years as it's changed from a delicatessen to a bistro. There are still preserves, wines, beers, meats and cheeses available. This has provided more seating for this popular shop. The interior design is pleasing, quirky, and a has a quality, homely feel. They have air conditioning, and heating. On a snowy day I was warm and cosy. The wooden seating was comfortable with fresh flowers on the tables. Four sofas allowed customers to be more relaxed, and a high chair for kids was available. Outdoors you can stand or sit at barrel tables all year round. At the counter you can choose from a selection of pre-prepared baguettes, pasties and cakes as an alternative to the freshly prepared rolls. You can get tea and coffees to go; so this is an option for a quick take away meal. There is Heinz Tomato Ketchup and HP Sauce in bottles on the tables. I ordered the Bentley's Breakfast and a black Americano. This coffee arrived at my table promptly, and the food a few minutes later. The plate was well presented, the sausages were particularly full of flavour. They do not provide customer Wi-Fi, but connectivity from next door Simmons worked sufficiently. They have toilet facilities, which are sufficient. I frequent often. I've been told I need to specify if I want a runny yolk. I've been told I need to specify a hard yolk. This time I remembered and asked for a runny yolk. It came hard. I'm disappointed. Get the basics right please.

Though fairly high in price, the food's quality is 5 times worth it. Locally sourced, and the freshness can be tasted. Great place for a family lunch.

Went to Bentley's last night for their steak night, the service was spot on and made to feel very welcome, the atmosphere was cosy, so very nice for a meal for two, or even a small group. The menu is small but enough on there for all, even vegetarian. The steak is cooked to order and really tender, prices good. They run these nights every other Saturday, so ring to check.

One of the best steaks I have eaten and I have eaten a lot. They could double their price and you would still be happy. A jewel in Hemel Hempstead.
