Lussmanns - Hertford

Excellent service and food in great relaxed atmosphere. Creme brule was fantastic but let down by being handed bowls direct from servers hands instead of bowels being placed in small plates not the most hygienic way to service or present. Needs attention. Sam the server was clearly embarrassed by this. Will return again. Highly recommended.

We went to Lussmanns for the first time tonight - I’ve always wanted to go. We had a lovely bruschetta started to share. I had the vegetarian paella for main and my husband had the steak. The food was sensational and so was the service and the ambiance we got served by Libby who was an absolute delight and really smiley and attentive. For pudding we shared the strawberry cheesecake which was light and very full of flavour. It was all fabulous the only thing I would have liked would have been to had to sea food in the paella seeing as it is advertised as a fish restaurant. Anyway still loved it.

We love Lussmans and the food is absolutely delicious. Service amazing, and the location is great. However, the portion sizes have shrunk, and particularly the chicken dishes. The two male members of the party ordered the pot roast chicken leg, but actually two skinny drumsticks arrived with a tiny amount of sauce, not even in a bed of vegetables. While very tasty, this was unacceptable for a main meal on a Friday evening. I hope this problem improves on our return! Oh, and the wine and desserts were fantastic. Hence overall 4 stars.

This restaurant is absolutely amazing! I celebrated my birthday the other day and the staff were so friendly. I had a ham hock terrine for a starter and it was lovely. I had Steak frites for my main with a buttery sauce and the steak was cooked just the way I like it and was very juicy. The chips weren't soggy and all crispy. The herbs in the sauce were lovely as well. For dessert I had a date and toffee pudding. The pudding was gingery and it wasn't too much. it was perfect. The cake had a bunch of flavours and I even got extra ice cream for free since it was my birthday! Will definitely come again! :)
